I read about La Brea when I was in my single digits. Was interested in fossils in those days.
Haven't thought about it in years. Interesting that they built a city on top of it!
This is funny too; never knew this: The modern name is an example of a tautological place name; "the La Brea Tar Pits" literally means "the the tar tar pits."
