Cub Cadet 1170 Belt, Transmission issues.

I have my neighbors little Cub Cadet 1170 riding mower in the shop. It has an automatic transmission, but not a hydro stat. Its like a snowmobile clutch type set up.

I got it because it was jerking when driving, like the drive belt was slipping, but it also does not disengage when letting off the pedal. I replaced both drive belts, they were original, with no change. It actually might be a little worse now.

I am at a loss what to do to remedy this. Any tips for me? Thanks in advance.

The biggest challenge with these tractors is knowing or finding the name of the dual belt snowmobile style transmission.
This youtube video will be a good starting place. It is called the Varidrive system.

Search youtube as there are many videos of these drive systems and how they work.
Usually there is something in the center pulley system that is no longer moving freely.
