So what would I be looking at for a 3100 with a 44" deck out the door??

Your in a good area that should have a few dealers to give you an idea...the short answer is not much more than what you were quoted for an old machine..IMHO

Im not really believing the website as accurate because I know the 44" deck for the 2544 is less than 140lbs of the 3000 series 44" which is 140lbs....

If I was to venture a guess, I'd say my 44" weighs 100lbs tops. Probably somewhere between 80-100lbs. As far as the tractor goes? I have no idea.

Im pretty sure they didnt change the deck design on the 2006 models....
Makes me wonder how accurate the website is even more, unless one of the dealers can tell me the 2006 are significantly more heavier than the 2005's...
They didnt change the frame or the drive train - so where did the extra weight go to? Thats a big difference from the 2500 series of 2005 and earlier being at 520 < lbs, to a machine that supposedly now weighs 700 lbs? Im not convinced this is the case at all, but I could be wrong. I have seem time up close, and it didnt strike me as a heavier unit.

Now that I think about it (and had to shove it around the garage today), I would be surprized if my 2544 exceeded 600lbs, deck and all.

Thanks for that info - Its where I based my info regarding the weight difference between the two machines in the past - and if indeed the 2006 series weigh alot more than, I stand corrected Im just now confused

Ok, so I/we have decided on the 2186 or a new 2544. Any reason to choose one over the other. I am not worried about the no mow in reverse, I can fix that.
