Cub cadet gt 2544 with kohler command ch 670 after 15 to 30 minutes sputters like it’s getting no fuel then dies.

Anyone know any possible causes because I have fresh fuel and the fuel pump works properly I was going to replace the fuel filter.

Fuel solenoid on carb cutting out due to heat sink. When it does it again, Either listen and if possible put hand on the fuel solenoid while you turn the key on and off. Should feel and hear the click of the solenoid.

Try loosening the gas cap slightly and see if it still cuts out. A bad check valve in the cap can create a vacuum in the tank after it runs awhile.

I have been having problems with my kohler command ch670 dying after 15 minutes then needs to sit for 2 hours and some times won’t start again after sitting. Any thoughts also has a new gas cap.

Can't tell where you live, but if recently hotter than usual (like in the northwest), maybe a fuel vapor lock

Does you engine have a pulse fuel pump?

Could be that the pulse line to the pump has some cracks in it and when the line warms up, it doesn't operate the pump properly.

Ignition modules could be shutting down when hot. Also the fuel solenoid on the carb could be shutting down and stopping fuel flow when hot. Next time it quits need to see if you can feel or hear the fuel solenoid on the carb click, also need to pull the spark plugs, ground them and crank the engine and check for spark.

No it has a mechanical fuel pump

Does it have one of those fuel shut offs on the bottom of the float bowl? Those are meant to shut the fuel off to prevent run-on and maybe it gets weak when hot. Check for a wire going to the bottom of the carb.

Try loosening the gas cap before running it. The check valve in the cap could be bad causing a vacuum to build up in the tank. Other possibility is the fuel pump. Spray starting fluid in the carb when it stops. If it then runs you know you have a fuel problem and not electrical.

Also I don’t know if this means anything but it’s been needing a carb rebuild for about 2 years. And on startup it surges very bad for like 7 minutes.

Continuing on that same thought, fuel lines that are old and spongy can be deceptive as well.

I ordered a carb kit and I’m going to rebuild the carb in a couple of days.

Try replacing lines first. When they get old they like to collapse when hot, especially in engine compartment. When replacing line from tank to filter in engine, locate clamps and loosen in frame rail. Butt new line up to line end off of tank, wrap together with some electrical tape a few inches onto each hose, then pull it through.
