Question: In the pictures showing the finished FEL sitting near the stairs, what are the silver-looking things mounted on the backside of the bucket? In one picture they seem to be elongated from a mounting bolt toward the upper lip of the bucket. In another picture they appear to be reversed and pointing the long portion toward the bottom of the bucket. I am sure they are useful to the project but I can't figure out what they are:confused: Nice fabrication BTW.

Good eye. The silver things that you are looking at are some swivel shackles that are bolted to the top of the bucket on each side. I got them for free and they are rated for 6000lbs each. They have come in handy for strapping objects that don't fit into the bucket. Attached are some pictures.

Someone was certainly generous to give you those lifting shackles as good quality ones are not cheap.

Man that sure is a nice shop built loader. I have an older 18HP Craftsman tractor laying around & I've toyed with the idea of trying something similar.
I need to price out the metal & hydraulics & see if it's worthit.
Anyway very well executed machine - Nice Job!

This thread is a few years old but its still one of the best FEL builds I've seen!

I was wondering what hardware you used for the pivot points such as pin size and the kind of bushings?
