Where's that metal tab located and how do you move it?

The Deeres have a reverse over ride feature like the Kubotas. At least my SSt18 and a neighbor GT235. I think it is a 235 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I just simply unplugged my switch and tapped over the connector so the elements wouldn't get in it.

Its great to mow in reverse again.

JayC,
You didn't say what machine you have, but maybe most are the same.
Follow the reverse pedal rod through frame of tractor.
My switch was located above the rod on inside of frame.
You can look under the inside of the frame with a small hand mirror if your deck is attached.
The metal tab to push on the switch is very thin, can easily be bent to one side to miss the switch.
This way nothing has to be disconnected and is easily bent back in case you have to have warranty work done.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I will have to look at it some time and see where I get. If I recall, I mentioned up above that it was a 2166. It's a good mower but I hate not being able to mow in reverse. Thanks, again. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

On the Cub 2250, do I use the motor connector or the reverse pedal rod switch to bypass the PTO cutoff?

Tell us a little about the 2250, like what year is it? I'm not familiar with it or when it was made. The others on this thread have current models for the most part, so its was easy to kinda show them where to look...The foot pedals are the activator so watching the reverse pedal when depressed fully must press against something underneath...Dont cut anywires because usually you dont need to....
Let us know how you make out after looking underneath -and yes the deck might need to be removed first....

How about that other safety feature, get off the seat and a switch turns off the engine. I've disabled the reverse cutout and motor shutoff on an 1860, 1862, 1872 and an older 149 I had. I did leave the safety that disengages the blades when you leave the seat intact.

How about the graphic newer PTO shafts with the poor guy wrapped around it. or the missing fingers graphic on new chippers.

i believe he has the lt1022 which is what i had before i traded it for an ih cub cadet 682. instead of messing with the foot pedal area, the wire is connected directly below the seat under the frame. very easy to disconnect and reconnect. they made it easy to disconnect because they know everybody hates it.
