But, you know how bad it is...right?

Plus the engine never fails, why would you need a warranty on the engine. That warranty is for the chassis, interior bits and front end.

Sure it can fail. Every engine ever built has X number of failures per thousand. Even Cummins.

I’m not altering anything on that truck until the warranty is up. Only fools void their warranties.

The 6.7L Cummins is also used in Ag tractors.
Pretty much says it all.

The B series and C series were created by a joint venture between Case and Cummins in the early 80's. At some point down the road Cummins bought out the Case share. It started out as the Consolidated Diesel Corporation. They had a goal in the beginning to build a simpler (fewer parts) engine. They also started with a fresh block design and made it lighter while being stronger as I recall. I'm sure neither expected the success that they have enjoyed. The 8.3 was my favorite. They were a great workhorse for us. Lot's went over 10,000 hours.

I also say Deere 6068's with cracked blocks and broken cranks. They didn't hold up to well for us. The Deere 4045 4 cylinder was a fabulous long life engine though.

Versatile in some of their Ag tractors.
Versatile makes Kubota’s bigger Ag tractors.
Lamtrac in their forestry machines (not exactly Ag, but heavy use).
There’s more, but that’s all i can recall right now.

Yes! I am also an 8.3L Cummins fan. Very strong engine.

I had one in my MX-270 Magnum. It was tuned to over 300HP. Made 280HP at PTO stub.

My JCB 185-65 had a 5.9L Cummins

My newer JCB 3230 had a 6.7L Cummins.

Overall my experience with the smaller Cummins 5.9L, 6.7L & 8.3L has been great.

Kubota large tractors are so rare around here that I wasn't aware they didn't build their own engines. I think you would have to look long and hard to find a 100 HP plus in use around here. There are a few that I would class as 75-100 but they are not very common. Plenty of smaller ones in the subcompact and compact range of course.

The Versatiles are all much larger and over 200 HP and don't use the 6.7 liter. The 4WD's probably use the ISX or X15. I was only referring to Ag use. Lot's of industrial applications.

We did have a warranty replacement 6.7 that spun a bearing. Still prefer it over the C7 Cat that they decided to replace them with.

I just looked at the local CIH dealer who also has Kubota. They have 17 stores but I don't know if all are Kubota because someone else might have the dealership. They have 5 new Kubota's in the 100-174 across all their stores and 0 used. They had 3 pages of new red in the same HP range.

Wanna bet? Here’s 3 models, over 200HP and all use the 6.7L Cummins.

The Versatile Nemesis is 100% Ag Tractor it uses the 6.7L up to 255HP.

Once you hit 275HP, they switch to the L-9 Cummins, which is just a stroked & modernized 8.3L Cummins
