Just finished putting this together, everything fits ok!
JD 4115, 410 loader, 46 backhoe. Also in the package is a 72" mid mower, and 47" snowblower.

Looks great. A question; it looks like the seatback extends beyond the rear of the cab. If you move the seat forward can you then put the rear of the cab in place? Or, am I just totally confused on the application/operation?

hhw,
Actually, the rear window of that cab is a bowed design, and
wraps around behind that seat, even with it slid all the way back. There is also a soft rear window option, and we may end up ordering one in for this customer to make changeover easier for bh usage..

Gee thats a picture of MY tractor I just bought! How has your performance been with your backhoe? I am not inpressed with mine, shovel works better.

Hmmm, I have the 46 BH on a 4110 and it never ceases to amaze me what it WILL do. What kind of shovel you'll be using to get better performance than the hoe? I'll have to get one as a back-up.

Care to elaborate with some details? you dont sound happy with your package. That would be the first negative I have heard regarding that setup....Is it for sale then?

I think there is a hydraulic problem...., to me, the hoe doesn't seem to have any digging power. I don't know about for sale, I'd like to trade it in or give it back to JD to fix. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Small 9" ponted one works very well! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

13 inch bucket with 3 teeth. The operation was quite jerky at higher rpms so I throttled back to just above idle - maybe 1100-1200 rpms and now it operates nice and smooth. Even at that low rpm it cuts thru our clay and glacial till like butter. I don't have any stumping to do but it routinely pulls out boulders much bigger than the bucket from 3-4ft deep holes without complaint (replacing footings for my pole barn).

I was wondering, how much apound is one of those Curtis cabs? I'd love to have something like that on my 990 this winter. Looks sweet!!!

Any idea how hard it would be to take the cab off for summer and put back on for winter?

Thanks but my research indicates that it can still get very warm with the doors and windows off. Just wondering if it is practical to take the whole cab off in the summer.

I spoke to the dealer yesterday. He could not find a enclosed cab for my 990 as of now. Also he said all panels are usualy removable for warm weather. I know you can get ac if that's a consideration. Doug

Shovel? What's that? I've thrown mine away, along with my iron bars! No, seriously. I have the 46 BH and have absolutely not complaints. I have dug out and moved (sometimes having to drag, due to huge stones) stones I'd have taken all day to try to shovel out, pry out and then eased them into place with gentle persuasion from the BH bucket. I've also dug out stumps that would have taken me days, several chainsaw chains, and a come-a-long with heavy chains to reef on tap roots while I got under and ruined another chainsaw chain. Not to mention all the shovel work I DIDN'T have to do to fill the holes back in.

Hope you figure out what is wrong with your 46.

Dutch,

That's really sweet. I'm incredibly jealous /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif . I thought no one was making a hard cab for the 4115...must have missed that. I'll have to save my pennies before winter comes again.
