Hey Wayne,
I was wondering if you did get a cab? If you did, did you get it from NPE?

I did get a Curtis thru Steve at NPE. I was sorry to hear he left the business, after he went the extra mile for me. I took my time and got it on last Saturday - just in time for warmer weather! I was happy to find that it came with a glass rear window panel and (lexan) quarter windows that are oriented 45 degrees from the sides. Visiblity is excellent and the whole thing seals up pretty well. For the most part the fit is very good, but I did run into problems.

I need to shim the door frames up a little more so the bottoms of the doors clear the floor mat and seal (can't raise the doors or they'll hit the top). I'm also going to relocate one door striker bracket with the mig after having to bend it to get the door to latch. The wiper arm coarse splines don't match the fine splines on the motor and have been mostly wiped out by my efforts to seat the arm. The motor seems a cheaper unit than the one on the old cab, but it'll probably be fine for the use it'll get.

With the doors off, the cab seems to disappear, so I don't see me taking it off for the summer. I just have to watch my head when I jump out!

I plan to add lights on both ends and a boat rearview mirror inside. It'll be lovely.

I didn't realize that Steve left. I haven't been up there in awhile. I may look into a cab for my 1445. Sounds like you have to modify a few things, but overall seems ok. How about some pics?

Good luck with the cab Rich. I'll post pics of my installation as soon as I get the small stuff sorted out.

Hi Wayne,

I bought Wayne's cab for the 1433 from his original post. I had it mounted about an hour after I arrived at home. I took the bottom rear frame peice off and my buddy and I walked it right onto my tractor! I spent most of Sunday working on some issues; I added a valve body and two sets of rear and one set of front hydraulics that were not factory so I had to modify the rear panel for clearance for the fender mounted valve. I still have some details to work out but basically it wasn't all that bad. I took a bunch of photos so when I'm all done I'll post them on another thread here in the Massey section.

This is how I set up controls in my MF 1140 with a Curtis cab.

Meanmerc here's the only shot I have of the 1540 cab installation showing the Curtis heater I finally installed last summer. Tell me what you need to see and I'll post pictures.

Well that looks really good! Great job! My FEL controls are where your heater is and this what I have to relocate somewhere in order to build my cab.
