Yes, I made the tube and hitch for mine. I mount the hitch in a mount on the left side rear when not in use. I put a pin instead of a ball on mine. I welded a ball from a three point arm on my trailer. It lets it move up and down on rough ground without binding. The trailer arm was too small for a regular hitch. I included my knerf bars and light guards I put on my Iseki so when bush hogging I wouldn't tear the emblems and decals off.

Nice job. Heavy duty for sure. I put my priority on the bumper and not the hitch. Your zero's back section is way different than on mine. I have a counterweight on mine so I used the bolts that hold that on to fasten the bumper. You did a nice job on the tractor piping. Looks as thought it should have come with the machine. Nice work! ;) Do you pull much with your zero? I bet there a bit tricky to back up with a trailer in tow :D

Nice to see people with alot of time on their hands crafting items of steel. It is like being in a different world with metal toys. I have been thinking of adding a metal lathe to my fleet. What brand and size is yours ? Any tips on brands or sizes that work out best ? Thanks jr

JR. The lathe I have I've owned for over 20 years. I guess you would consider it a "tool Room Lathe". It's made by "Sofia". It's got a 12 inch swing and has a 30 inch bed. I weighs over a full ton. It was built back in 1979 in Sofia, Bulgaria. It has been by far the best tool I've ever owned and with out it I could never do what I have done. A few weeks ago I added the DRO (Digital Read Out) as seen in one of the pictures I posted above. The only advise I could give anyone wanting a lathe is what ever you decide to get make sure it's heavy. Like all metal working equipment, the heavier the better. I know guys around here that have real old South Bend lathes and they are just as good as new. Do your research and you'll have no problem finding a good lathe.

As always very very nice work, i wish you lived in my hometown to help with my cab :D

Thank you sir. By the look of your avatar you don't need any of my help. It's looking real nice. Your going to really enjoy that cab. You know if you really do need my help just send me an airline ticket and I'll give you a week so long as you feed me :D Post a few pics of the cab so far. Would love to see it!

Thanks, I have a small 4 wheel wagon with a tilt bed I pull quite a bit. Backing up is pretty much out of the question. With the zero turn I can turn it around 360 in almost the same room as backing up.

Your shop looks like my dream shop. I have the basics but none of the high tech.

Remember, Paul outfitted his shop without the aid of a TV show on the Discovery Channel. I think that makes it even better. :)

4shorts,

The paint you use really matches up great with the factory paint on all your equipment.

Where do you buy the Kubota orange paint ?

I notice on all your equipment you have letters & a phone# of your shop... Do you have something that cuts them out that way ?

I agree with mjncad. The old gas pumps are really nice!

I'm glad to hear that one of your next projects is doing the exhaust on your tractor, because you know I've been asking you about that for a long time.:D.. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

The pipe benders can really be handy for all types of projects.... My wife's cousin owns a auto-repair shop, and he has a bender for doing exhaust & a lot of duals, and other jobs.

I went there one day to use it and to bend a piece of pipe for something on my ATV...Well i managed to smash 3 fingernails.... Later on they turned black & fell off. My wife's cousin said a HF pipe bender might be best for me:rolleyes::D...I had one of those & they are junk... I gave it to my father-in-law.

Hum I guess you have a good point when it comes to backing up. No need to with the Zero. I don't look at my shop as a dream shop. It's just a means of making a living for me but it is nice to be able to use the equipment for my hobbies. My shop is usually busy and I need to have such different tooling due to all the types of work I offer my customers. Glad you like the shop :D

So true Matt. It's not unusual to see me working 80+ hours per week. I've done that for a long time so having the tools to do the job right makes it all a little easier. Wouldn't it be nice though if some of us did get the opportunity to work with the Discovery Channel and pick the tooling we only dream of having. Oh the things we could build

Glad you guys like the old pumps. They kind of add character to the shop. A lot of folks stop by to see them and to snap a pic or two so there good to have around.

The exhaust will be my next project. Hoping to start it in a week or two. I got all the parts I need to do it now but don't have it all in my little brain how I'm going to do it but I don't dwell on those things much. Most of it will come to me as I get going at it. I just hope I don't disappoint you :D I will be adding a stack. It won't be going through the hood or up the side of the cab. I want it to look like it belongs there and can be removed in a matter of minutes if need be. We'll all soon see I guess. Just promise you won't laugh :D

I get my paint mixed by the gallon at a specialty paint shop in the city. They match it perfectly. Most all the painting that I've used on my equipment and collection have been mixed by them. You might say I'm a regular customer of there's :D

Some of my logo's I air brushed. In the case of the advertising stuff there done by a very good friend of mine. I design them and he does them as a digital print and then puts them on vinyl for me. He is very good at what he does in my opinion. Attached is a photo of a lighted sign he did for me that's on our main repair shop. The second picture is the sign that hangs in the shop where I keep our collection.

Oh man I'm sorry to hear about your fingers. I can only imagine how that must have felt. Those HF ones do get the job done but there really slow. Did you loose the full three fingers? Man that must have hurt  I can see why they have the warning decals all over my bender. It's easy to have happen especially if you get distracted. See attaches picture ;)

very nice work!

Thank you very much :D
