I still have my Paasche 'H' series airbrush I won in a model contest back in the 70's. I only used it for model making; but I did try it to repair a scrape on my Mom's bumper a few years back. I never did figure out what thinner to use with Honda's bottled touch-up metallic paint. Mineral spirits didn't work; neither did M-E-K, Naphtha, Xylene or acetone. I did the best I could; but I wasn't happy with the result. Fortunately the scrape was small and my Mom is happy.

Oh yes, how could I forget the screaming wrestling event announcer on Monster Garage. That was another reason I couldn't stand that show.

Yes, there are a lot of good fabricators on this site and I enjoy seeing what people come up with.

Matt the trick to making a paint repair is to know what was there before. I've seen times where a good painter tried to repair and paint a bad area and after he applied the paint it all started to lift or go to a crinkle like finish. When that happens something has gone terribly wrong. I've never used an air brush for spot repairs. I usually use a full size gun and blend it in. I usually go 18" on each side of the repaired area. After it dries I usually wet sand and buff. Looks super cool and you would never say it was ever done :D

If I may be so brazen...................... your daughter is quite beautiful, and I'd like to date her. ;)

Sorry Ductape she's taken. Actually she married (see first photo, husband). She even got a kid!(see second photo) She got a sister but she just broke up with some guy from Central New Hampshire and she's pretty tore up about it (see third photo). She got a first cousin but she's always working. She might go out with you (see last photo) :D:D:D

Wow , Paul, Thats some collection of Memorabilia . Thanks for sharing .

Bob

Glad you liked it Bob. Thank you sir :D

Looks like that bike needs the 'baffles' taken out of the pipes.:D.... I took mine out of the stock pipes and it sounds great... It also made it run better.. The pipes was blocked off in 3 places.

I may just come & visit someday... But it won't be in the winter. :D

I enjoyed yours pictures of your yard with you tractor... You really have a nice yard, and it looks relaxing the way you have the landscape!.... I also enjoyed the pictures of the chair, gas pumps and all the rest of your collection....That girl looks great!!!!!:D..(I hope my wife don't see this.)

OK since you've shown different pictures and videos in this thread, and we all have talked about different things..Can you post something else that you built.. I don't remember where its at but I've seen it before. Its the "sandblaster" that you built.... Do you care to post that ?

Thanks for all the pictures!

Ya that bike was pretty quiet alright. My Wing is quiet. I like quiet though. We have a few Harley's that come to the shop with straight pipes. they would wake up the dead.

Happy you liked the pictures. Appreciate the compliment on it. My wife and I enjoy working around the yard. It gets me out of the shop for awhile. We just back from our evening walk. We seen one eagle, two stray cats and 3 whales in the bay. you come on down for a visit. I'm sure you'll love the place. It's a little laid back. Not much in the way of crime. Most folks are very friendly and say hello when you walk by.

So you want to see something else that I built. Ok. I'll go and look for some photo's and post it after this post. Thanks. Paul

Bill mentioned in the last post about a sandblaster I built. I built is a long time ago and it's served me very well ever since. I could find one that would work or perform the way I wanted it to so I built one. I posted it on a fabrication site and the editor of the magixene called me and wanted to do a story on the thing. It was featured in the Welding, Design and Fabrication magazine. I called it the "Brutal blaster". :D

This is one of many tools that I've designed and built. Most of them are still used on a daily basis here at our shop. I've attached the article. Hope you can read it. Thanks. Paul

Thanks for posting the sandblaster!.... Yes, I could read the article from the newspaper real good...That is a very nice "Brutal Blaster" :D.. and you did a great job building it!

Yea some Harley's are too loud... I have some friends that have a Harley & they have straight pipes on them.. We was riding one day & one guy wanted to stop at the dollar store.. He went in and came out with a box of Brillo-pads and stuffed the whole box in his pipes. :D

They didn't last long because he blew them back out a few miles down the road. :D

My wife is sitting beside me & I showed her the woman in the (third photo)... I said look at this, and she said (WHY are you looking at women on TBN, and WHO is she) :D:D

I told her don't worry, that woman is a dummy. :D

I hope "Ductape" can pick between the last two. :D

Thanks for all the pictures!... And the good laugh with Ductapes post. :D

mjncad , it depends on What paint You were using . But almost all use a Urethane base clear coat system that needs the proper reducers . All You mentioned You tryed to use will not work for the type of paint on the bumper IMHO .

Unfortunately painting is not my forte, and I was thinking old school finishes. If there is a next time, I'll take a run to a an auto paint supply place.

Your going to get in trouble with your wife looking at this stuff :D there is one more choice that I can offer Ductape. She's a nice gal but man she loves chatting on the phone (see pic one). Please don't tell anyone about the Superman suit. I hate getting called out in the middle of the night to rescue someone. . It's cold flying around up here after dark with tights on :D One of the gals we have here came with a special story. There was an article on her as well. I attached it on the second photo. Hope you can read it :D

I ride with a Harley rider every now and then. I have to stay up front because I can't hear my Ipod when he's ahead. We sure look odd riding together. Here's a few pics of the first ride of this season.

Glad the Brutal Blaster came through. I got so many of those types of projects that if I posted them I would take over the site so I'll refrain from doing that. As I said before. Anything goes so if anyone has a cool project they just built or some kind of tool show us. I love viewing pictures too you know :D

:D:D:D...Yea that's a nice gal for Ductape.

I have laughed so hard over this... BUT, I wasn't laughing much when I first showed my wife the picture of (gal #3)....I held my laptop up last night & my wife looked at the pic. from a short distance, and my wife said she looked real. :p :D

I won't tell anyone about the "Superman Suit." :D

Yea, I could read it very well... Very interesting what you & your wife do with all your collections!... You really have some nice old stuff from "Coca-Cola" & "Shell Oil."

I missed the menu before and just saw it & liked what you had on it.

Now I would have been scared hauling around all those body parts in the van, and the ones laid out in the floor of the shop. :D.. It funny that it takes all of those to make one good gal. :D

Nice pics of the bikes!

Glad you enjoyed the pics. Your wife is going to think your some kind of perv looking at those gals :D Pretty cold here in the winter flying around with that Superman suit on. It's a bit drafty as well

It was a bit embarrassing as it was driving home with all those body parts but one has to do what it takes to build the collection. There's plenty of stories like that I could tell you about. Glad you like the bikes. Right now I have an old CT70 on the bike ramp to start restoring. I got to do the tractors exhaust first though. I got it started but I'm waiting on a part before I can really get it rolling. Won't be long and I'll have it done.;)

The nice thing about the old phone booths is that drivers had to park & talk!

The story on the collecting the body parts in the van is a hoot.

It's law here in Newfoundland that your not allowed to use your cell phone while driving. That being said, one time last year while out enjoying a ride on our wing my wife and I were approaching a busy intersection that have a traffic light. My light was green but before I went through I noticed a PT cruiser approaching fast so I slowed down only to watch the PT Cruiser go right on through the red light just missing us. I also noticed that the female driver was chatting on the phone. I was shook up but I still had the police on speed dial and reported the incident to them along with the exact time and license plate number. They got her. Hopefully she'll learn a lesson. It could have been a pedestrian walking across the road and she would have hit them.

I feel the only way to stop this problem is to have a GPS system built into the phones, Blackberry's and all texting equipment so that if the devise senses movement they won't work. There's no way to police this law and people just don't realize the risks. We should go back to phone booth's

There's been talk of banning cell phone use including texting while driving in Colorado; but that hasn't happened, probably due to the enforceability problem associated with it.

With so many people running red lights, I definitely do the look left-right-left routine before I hit the gas on a green light. A lot of suburban towns around Denver have turned the red-light cameras into a cash cow.

I tried yakking and driving twice and it scared the **** out of me. So I park and talk if I need to make a phone call. On the rare occasion the phone rings, I find a place to pull over safely, look at the caller I.D. and call whoever it was back.
