Hi there,

I was wondering how much weight would you guys recommend in the front of my B2320N.
When I use 54" snowblower, or 55 gal sprayer my front wheels come off the ground. Tractor feels very unstable.
I never ride it without buckling up.

I'd like to build a custom dead weight to put it on the front. I'm thinking 2 feet of 6"x6"x1/4" hollow square
filled with junk/rebars and concrete. It should weigh about 150lb for about $55. I can go with 2' of 8"x8"x1/4" but that is $112. Lifting it off will not be a problem, I'll weld a hook and use my other tractor to lift it and position it in place.

Not sure if 150lb will be enough. How much weight do you use on the front?
Would you extend the weight to the front as much as possible or keep it close to the tractor.

I don't have FEL or guard installed.

Kubota recommends 165lbs max. on a B series. I use 135lbs of suitcase weights when I use my 450lb RFM.

Thanks. I just got free weights machine off kijiji for free. Six rectangular weights, each 22lb.

I think I'm going to bolt a 4x14x1/4 flat bar to bolt it to the bumper.

I have a question for you. You used 1/4" thick angle. Right? Also, the 1/2" bolts are ok to hang that much weight?

I'm thinking of drilling two holes in each weight and bolt them the same way as you have done. I'm just not sure if 1/2" bolts will hold them. 6 plates are about 9" thick. Total dimensions of the 6 plates will be 5x14x9

Depending on what grade of hardware you are using grade 5? or 8? I had grade 8 left over so thats what i used.
what ever 1/2 fastener you chose the clamp load on this hardware is anywhere from 8k-17k. i uses flats and locks also. the lock washers will keep things from vibrating loose.

all that to say 1/2 hardware is strong enought to do what you want.

good luck and post some pics of your project.

I had the same problem with my B2320 with the front end going for the sky. This is my fix with Sakrete hanging on the front end. It's ugly and I've since gotten some exercise bar weights that look better that I'm going to use.

Is your B2320 the narrow model?? On the kubota website they have the narrow model as being capable of, with the front weight bracket, holding 8 55 pound weights. Thats....,darn got to take off my shoes to use my toes, thats 440 pounds or 200 kilos. So I would think just about any weigth you put up front the frame/axle could hold it. Have you put fluid in the tires? If your tractor is the narrow model what do you use it for? I was thinking of getting a narrow B2320 here myself for a garden tractor to go between 45 inch rows.

That is what my dealer said too. He recommended 4x55lb. But that would be about C$600 with taxes, weights and brackets.

I'm going to put the weights I got for free on two 5x3 1/2 angles (bolted to the side of the frame), limit front and back with two angles going parallel to the weights and use existing 1" hole to run 1" solid rod to limit the lateral movement. I'll post some pics once I'm done.

BTW, I have a narrow version of B2320, I use it for vegetables, cultivation, watering, hilling potatoes, digging potatoes, carrots, beets etc. Cutting grass around a small orchard, picking stones, snowblowing in tight corners etc. I have FEL on my big boy so I went with a narrow version and I'm glad I did.

Here is my solution (3/8" and 5/16" angles, two 1" solid rods, all A36 steel, bolts are 5/8"). Angles had to be custom cut/fitted because of electrical ground bolt and exhaust pipe. The rod at the bottom can be used to pull the tractor out of trouble or pull things with it. The weights are from exercise equipment,
22lb each. Got them for free from kijiji. All together my setup is about 150lb.

Very Nice build. I was going to do something similar to yours however I have a FEL and wanted the setup to be easily removed.
I like you drop pin in the center nice touch.
