Custom Potato Plow at Work

Hi All,

I've kept this one pretty close to my vest for the last few weeks. Tried it out today and am very pleased with the results.

1) I have a triangular 3 point drawbar that many of us use to move light trailers around.

2) A couple of years ago my welder friend beefed it up with a center post, 3/8" log hook, and 2" receiver

3) I wanted a potato plow that "plugged" into the 2" receiver.

4) My Amish welder friend produced the beauty shown below.









I also have a short video clip, but haven't figured out to attach it yet!

Sure beats a potato fork. Nice Job. I shorten the right side life term on my tractor and use the middle buster / potato plow like a one bottom plow. Works good enough for me and gives more use to the middle buster.

Looks like a great device. I have some sweet potatoes to harvest in a few weeks. I am thinking about using a spring tooth chisel plow. Do you think that would work?

Good idea. I'll try that. Right now I have a middle buster and change the plow foot to the one the OP is showing. Not a lot of trouble but cranking the right lift arm would be better and easier and I'm all for easy.

Get you a extended reach hand pick up thingy and a lawn mower trailer for picking potatoes.

Good tool you have there farmeratheart. I too try to use every implement for several different tasks. Some work some don't. Only way you'll know is try it.
