The bumper looks considerably stronger then the frame it's bolted to! Nice job.

Yup. I'm not a fan of GM IFS front ends.
Too light duty for a 1 ton truck.

Thanks.

Man, a couple of those pictures bring back some memories. I was a neighbor growing up, looked up at that mountain every day. Even got to the top a few times.

Ohh, and nice job.

Thanks.

Very nice. I enjoyed following your progress through your pictures. I especially admire your attention to detail and effort at reinforcing it in every way possible. Probably the best part was seeing it all done and how nicely it came out!!!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks. It was a stout bumper. I'm sure the truck frame will fail before it bends.

Would have been a much better build had you taken and attached a few more pics!

Very nice.

What are holes in the top of the bumper for where you mounted the brush guard?

Very nice.

What are holes in the top of the bumper for where you mounted the brush guard?

Thanks.
The holes are so the sandblasting dust can go up in the pipes, and then when I brush the primor on one side, and then flip it over to do the other, the dust will then come out of the tubes, onto my fresh paint.

Drains? Was my guess. Or fixturing for welding?

.

Yeah its just drains for moisture. I've seen bigger enclosed structures then those pipes fill with water and freeze and crack.
Only took a couple minutes with the mag drill. Love that thing.

Hey Matt, how's it going?

I just happen to be a farmer and a weldor, so I figured I should scatter my knowledge and experience around the internet somemore.
