Cheeky....naw, I don't think so. I would certainly spend the money if it was my profession or if I did enough of it. I've always been a tool nut but somehow space and finances seem to limit just how "nutty" I can get.
I think I will try the circular saw route. I have been thinking about upgrading my Skilsaw anyway so I will get a few blades for that and see how it goes.
Time to upgrade my woodworking saw anyway.
As far as time and aggravation go, it's like time and money. When you have one you seem to never have the other.
But a plasma cutter...they have gone down quite a bit in cost....
Tine to start thinking about more projects.
then try a worm drive saw, it operates at about 4,250 RPM. quite a bit slower, and much more torque, which you'll need for metal..

do you fight many wars in Minnesota?.

No we don't, Canadians are pretty friendly - gun store owner uses the machine as advertising. :)

I made the gun mount portion modular and included mounts for the aluminum cast "gun" and the 1919 and 50 cal.

His customers can shoot off the humvee at his range.

I need to get up there and see his store, had my camper at camp Itasca for 8 years, moved it 3 years ago.

Harbor freight has a couple options for cutting metal, their double cut saw would work well I believe craftsman has something comparable.

Now that's interesting. Have you ever used one? I have seen them and wondered if they were of any real value or use. Now that you mention it here I am curious.
I realize they have a limited depth cut. Has anyone tried them on substantial material...such as 1/4" steel or metal roofing....perhaps rebar?
