Cutting concrete posts

I am in the boat with using them if they have been tested. Or build a form box and pour concrete over the ones that you want to use.

1) pour around them and use them, if they are that hard to get out, they are going to be good enough for you to use
2) large equipment (full sized backhoe, trackhoe etc) will pop them right out
3) a demo saw and a lot of work you could cut it off

id pay for an operator to remove them before i spent the time and effort to cut them all off.

pack the holes left with good gravel mix and your good to go. (flowable backfill if you want to get technical)

Just go rent one of ICS Concrete Saws and be done with it

I was wondering if someone would mention a diamond chainsaw. That is
the correct tool. One was used on one of my concrete (ICF) buildings
to adjust the height of one wall. Very clean cuts 12" deep were no
problem, if you can find one to rent.

OK, here's what happened.

One of my neighbors stopped by and said he'd take those 24 concrete posts off my hands if I could get them out of the ground. He'll haul them to his place and use them to build a new barn. He has 130 acres and can build ag buildings up to 12,000 square feet in size without engineering or building inspection. With only 10 acres I'm limited to 600 sq ft on an ag exempt permit. Saves me the expense of hiring a hauler to take these posts to the landfill.

So I spent a few days with my drain spade, trench shovel, digging bar and the garden hose to loosen the posts so I could ease them out of the ground without damaging them.

Got the Mahindra 5525 fired up and pulled them loose via the drawbar.

Then chained the posts to the MF250 FEL bucket, lifted them out of the hole and dragged them away from the jobsite.

No problem. The heaviest post is only about 900 lb and FEL can lift 2900 lb. The chain is rated at 2000 lb. The JD 2-14 plow on the 3pt adds about 800 lb of ballast.

I'll be picking through my neighbor's pile of old farm implements as part of the deal. Hope to find a usable field cultivator.

I am sure the hand work wasn't fun but it looks like things worked out well. Free implements!!!! Things didn't work out well, they worked out great.:D

Concrete you can't break with a hammer is sound enough to support a 12000 fq ft building but not a 601 sq ft building. Glad to hear Ca. govenment is really looking to protect you from yourself ????? MikeD74T
