I did a search for this, but the only threads that came back were regarding toothbars such as the Pirahna line. I am looking for a reversible, bolt-on cutting edge for the KL5521 FEL on our DK5310. In our area we have a lot of rocks and boulders in the soil. Many of them are the size of a wheelbarrow or small ATV, but may only be showing a few inches above grade. I don't see a need for a toothbar. It has been strongly suggested to me by a local excavator to get a cutting edge to preserve and protect the front edge of the loader bucket. Having seen the edge on his skidsteer bucket I have to agree with him.

Anyone have a make and model of bolt-on cutting edge they can recommend? I have asked this question of the local Kioti dealer but have received zero response. I'm interested in either an OEM or aftermarket. What do you all have? TIA

Call bobcat. Ours is bolted on right now. Go out to the county shop and get a used grader blade and order some bolts for it. I put a grader blade on the neighbors.

I had a DKA103 72" Bolt On Cutting Edge added to the KL5520 FEL bucket on my DK4510 when I bought it, list price $270.00, bundled at $214.00.

Are there holes already on the bucket? If so, whats the diameter and spacing? 66" or 72" bucket?

edit: if you have holes already: Cutting Edge Blades | Paumco Products, Inc

I sent an email to Paumco asking if they have a cutting edge for the KL5521. I know I can provide measurements, hole diameter and spacing, etc. and they can make one. I was hoping they might have sold one previously and already have the info. Haven't heard back yet.

If you know the hole spacing and diameter, which could be standard, then you could just match it up to one on the site. Also need to know how far back from the edge the holes are to know the width of blade needed - less than 2"/3"/4" setback would be 4"/6"/8" width for a reversable blade, for examples.

I bought one and welded it on.
It was quite expensive, a couple of hundred bucks for a 5' length.

When I took a close look I realized the bucket needed some new plate...

I bolted on my cutting edge so I could more easily reverse and replace. Drilling the holes in the bucket was fun. Thankful for my 1/2 inch heavy duty drill with side handle and drill doctor!

I don't know if you need an extra cutting edge for wear as the existing one should be hardened? The one on my bucket is hardened I'm sure. I've pryed out quite a few boulders with it that would barely fit in the bucket without really effecting the edge. I try not to drive into rocks as hard as a skidsteer would either. That said I did put a kink in it being dumb and prying out my 7' box blade that had frozen into the mud, but that was full curl strength onto a single metal point, and probably a cutting edge would have stopped that...

Yes, you need a cutting edge. The stock bucket does not even have a proper, replaceable "cutting edge". Unless you want to ruin the edge of your bucket, that is. The true cutting edge also goes a long way to stiffening the bucket to prevent bowing of the bottom edge.

ps, welded is best, but bolt-on is ok.

I just put a new T 1 bottom in a bucket and welded a road grader blade across for a cutting edge.

I would still consider a tooth bar. I leave mine on 99% of the time. It does get in the way when moving snow or gravel, but it helps move logs and rocks and clearing bramble as well as protecting your bucket. It is kinda the difference between a fork and a spoon.

I ended up going with the Cutting Edge from Paumco Industries. Order process went very smoothly and they were helpful in ensuring I got the right edge with the right hole spacing and size for my FEL. Once ordered I had my new cutting edge in less than a week. The bar weighs about 75lbs and I ordered it with the hardware. It is about 1/2inch thick. It bolted right up to the existing holes in the Kioti bucket. Initial impressions are good.

To reiterate, I specifically DID NOT want a tooth bar due to the boulders that are imbedded in our ground. We have dug out some boulders the size of Mini Cooper. (The old British one; not the BMW one. ;) ) In speaking with a neighbor that owns an excavation business he strongly recommended NOT getting a tooth bar as he has seen plenty with bent/missing teeth due to hitting unseen boulders. I have a grapple so moving brush/logs/rocks I have covered.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I suggest you contact a company like Spartan Equipment who offers a bolt on tooth bar that catches under the edge of your existing bucket edge and offers replacement teeth. That or just buy the teeth, drill and bolt them on.
