ondering what everyone would recommend? The Cyclone XL or the Kubota bagger system for a bx2380? Leaning towards the Cyclone as it looks like it might be easier to set up and unhook when I want to do loader work. Goal is to remove leaf debris and cutting to help rid the area of ticks.

I have a BX2680 with the Kubota set-up. Used it yesterday while cutting the grass and it performed great and I'm hoping it'll make leaf collection easier this fall. Not sure if the Cyclone reduces (shreds) what it sucks up, but they say the Kubota won't reduce any more than what the mower blades have already done. Haven't removed it from the machine yet, but I think removing some of the parts (hose, bags, etc.) will make it more manageable to mount and dismount from the back of the tractor.

I can not comment on the Kubota bagger system or what is best for a bx2380... but we have had a Cyclone Rake XL for at least 8+yrs.... We have run ours behind two different zero-turn's & after owning it, I would not be without it. It is really easy to connect & disconnect & breaks down easily for off season storage. Also their customer service & support has been outstanding, when we needed to swap the XL to the new mower.

None of the leaf vacuums (CR included) significantly shred the leaves by themselves. I get a good shred when picking up with the mower deck and mulching gator blades but very little when I use the remote pickup tube.

I had the kubota bagger on my BX, I hated it. If grass was moist it would clog fast. I used it in Washington and Missouri so not the dryest places but I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

Interesting. I went through the same process two years ago and bought the bagger for my BX2670. To me, the cyclone is only good if you have wide open spaces. The 8 foot swing behind the tractor takes out many things if not paying attention. The only drawback to my bagger is it fills quickly in fall with leaves, but they are pulverized with Gator G2 blades. I bought a quick disconnect clamp for each end of the hose, and take off the hose and boot and mow using standard deck discharge 99% of the time. After clippings dry out the next day, I pick them up with the bagger. Off to the burn pile. In 30 seconds, WOOF! They are gone. I’ve plugged once in two years when my son windowed the leaves, which were by then, powdered. After running into them too fast, the chute plugged. The QD clamps made short order of resolving the issue.
I’ve been looking into a new B-series, and if I move on, it will include a bagger in the deal.

Thanks all. I ended up with a DR Pro. A local guy didn't like it for his property and he offloaded it to me for $600 with the extra hose attachment. I got it set up today. Worst part is for this to work I had to remove the 3 point hitch. I dont use the 3 point much as I only spray as well and have the quick on sprayer by BXpanded. I appreciate the replies. I think the Cyclone xl would've been better than the DR but the $ saved will go towards the new build.

After having/using the Kubota set-up for about a month now, I can say that I like it a lot. Haven't had any clogging issues, etc. and I can mow the entire yard and only need to dump the 3 bags once. If I had a complaint, it would be how the unit mounts to the machine. While the mounting system makes for a compact set-up (the unit is pretty close to the back of the machine), it's a bit awkward and a PITA to install and remove. Other than that, like I said, I like it a lot.
