Yes, it might be that way here but I'm not sure. It is a good practise regardless of the law though. I was glad the day mine came loose that they were crossed. 12,000 lbs of trailer and excavator bouncing around the road wouldn't have made a pretty picture /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. As a side note. When you are towing anything make sure you are the last one to look at the hookup as you are the one that is responseable for any accidents you may cause.

I didn't want to use the hitch if there was any possibility of issues. I called my dealer and they said they never heard of a draw bar lock but a local new holland dealer had one on-hand.

I installed the lock and it worked fairly well. For the future, I'll get a real hitch.
