Danuser F8 Digger downforce kit report

A couple weeks ago, I finally got around to installing the hydraulic downforce kit for my Danuser F8 Digger with 16"/30" step auger. Long story short: It works very well. It does indeed put quite a bit of downforce on the auger and greatly speeds digging in very difficult conditions. Highly recommended, if you need it. The only strangeness is that the cylinder is single-acting, so you can only use one of the remote hydraulic ports. The other line has to be plain-old dump back to sump. I had to spend a little time making up a replacement filler cap that would take a sump connection.

Mark please explain in alittle more detail about the single acting cylinder. I'm not getting how you tied it in. Used just one side of a remote right? Then for the other side of the remote you had to run a hose back to your filler cap for the trans? Am I correct or just alittle slow to pick this one up.

By the way I ended up getting that F8 and at a screamin price!!! Sometimes it pays to wait them out. I do know that it's a rugged built piece of equipment well worth the money.

Gordon - You got it right: You can use either of a pair of remotes for the pressure (you just have to push the valve the right way, of course). The return line just goes back to the sump via the transmission fill plug. There are other ways, of course, but that seemed the easiest to me.

Any chance of booking you and your F8 digger next year to help out with gutting the halloween pumpkins prior to carving ?? That F8 with the downforce kit would do the trick.....
