OMG!

It's not that hard to get it close. What car guy doesn't know a chev 350 is a 5.7 liter. There is your conversion. Not perfect, at 61.4 CI per liter...

Good one though. Haha.

You're far closer than most salesmen, but it's actually 61.023 CI

Who relies on sales guy for data, do your own homework. He's there to show you the car or truck, provide info on inventory, schedule at test drive, or make an order, point out features, not give engineering details. HS

Another option is to lease with no money down. :

That they love as the biggest profit margins are in options and spread out over 60 months translates to " only (eg) .24 cents per month or .06 cents a week" if you get my drift.
Latest gimmick is to add 'free' a set of snow tires that list at ,i.e., $600. but costs dealer (bulk purchase) probably less than $250. and don't kid yourself, you actually are paying for them.

Ten comes extended warranties.
Just bank the premiums and you will be miles ahead.

OP here....when my GF texted me about buying extended warranty, I asked her how much it was a month...she said $40 a month added to payment for a so-called "bumper to bumper" 75000 mile warranty...and the OEM factory warranty covers vehicle for 3 years/36000 everything and I think the OEM warranty covers the powertrain and emissions control systems for 5 years/100,000....honest to (bleep) over a 4 year period alone the $40 a month extra would come to $1920 and finance charges PLUS a deductible that would add at least $100 per repair...my dad loved to tell me that dealerships earn more on extended warranties than they do on the vehicle. Only time I ever paid for one was on my '85 Crown Victoria that cost me $615 and finance charges over 4 years...yet I still lost $$. EXTENDED WARRANTIES ARE A RIPOFF.

"buzzards gotta eat too, same as worms"

Care salespersons have to make a living too. That don't mean they have to make it all on you, or one sale, but they have to make a living..

Maybe you are the only buyer left who still thinks engine displacement is measured in cubic inches. Lol. HS

Personally I'd much rather hear "it's got a 427" rather than "there's a 6.1 liter hemi under dere". The 427 in the Corvette isn't even a big block but the number cu'in equivalent is more discernible to the age group actually buying the car.

Extended Warranties have been a life saver to several of my friends... only if they are backed by the manufacture.

The retired folks across the street got a new 4100 engine from Cadillac and my brother had a very expensive Honda Transmission replaced.

A couple of things to remember... you can shop for an extended warranty after the sale... my brother picked one up from a Honda Dealer at exactly half the cost his Dealer was going to charge... he got an outstanding Deal on the car.

At closing he had a cashier's check and subtracted the inflated warranty from the total... Dealer was not to happy about it.

I don't think the other warranties Dealers try to sell are worth the paper it's written on... many times during an arbitration case the customer would say and I even paid for the extended warranty only to find out it was not from the Manufacture.

"It's not a sin to make a profit"....yeah, I agree. Back when I was shopping for a new '85 Ford, one salesman was really giving me a hard time, his closing argument was as follows: "How much profit does a dealer deserve to make on a $15,000 car?" Since he was asking about $900 over dealer cost before the holdback and rebates, I told him: "Seventy five dollars" and got up walked out. About 3 weeks later I had stopped for gas in my new car, which I purchased for dealer cost before the holdback and rebates, and the same salesman was filling up his car while on the way to work. He walked by me, eyed the car, saw me and did a double take and said "Hey do you remember me?" I told him, "Yeah...seventy five dollars...."

I sure miss the days when 15 grand would get you something like this.
