Dash Fuse Assembly Fell Apart?

J.D. 3120, X584, GT235 and a IH 606
The dash fuse assembly on my 1966 International 606 tractor fell apart and is unusable, what would be the harm if I just bypassed the fuse by connecting the two wires togeher?
