David Brown reputation?

I've been looking at buying a 40-50 HP tractor and have looked at several. In my area, a David Brown 880 has appeared, allegedly with a rebuilt engine. 3000 is being asked. I notice that the DB has no power steering, but has the good DB diesel around 40HP.

Is the David Brown worth a shot or is it a chronic problem with poor parts availability?

I did not purchase my grandfathers one owner small farm David Brown. It was because of poor parts availability back in 1975. Heck no more then I would have used it I may never had to buy a part for it.
