Daytime running lights... like or dislike???

I like them from the standpoint of safety. I think they do help in spotting the other vehicle quicker.

( I am referring to the headlight on in the daytime, not just when it is raining, as required by some jurisdictions. )

If I'm not mistaken, a number of states have now passed the law that requires that vehicles turn on their headlights when it rains. I believe Illinois has that law now.

My 97 tahoe has DRL. They come on when you start the engine, go off when you turn it off. Not much to think about. During the day they cant be seen by the driver, at night they should be on. Never say an issue with them. I always turned on my headlights when I drive, this just saves me a step

I definately like them. I am still amazed to see many drivers on a dark stormy day going down the road with no lights. So I like them for all the drivers who cant remember to turn their lights on. Which helps me see them.

I don't care for them, at least most of the time. I don't have them and won't if I have a choice in the matter. I don't turn my lights on unless its dark, spelled cloudy also, or raining. But I sure like them better, then someone that turns on his parking lights and thinks he can be seen with them. They just make him look like he is farther away than he looks like. One of the things I really don't like is the blueish bright headlights that is on some of the cars now. I think they are the Halogen bulbs, not sure, but they are just too bright if they are coming at you, they kind of blind you. I wish they would do away with them. It might make it easier for the driver to see, but not the other guy. I know, I know, I'm getting old.

I'm getting used to them. Most times I think they're a good thing on other vehicles and mine. I'm not thrilled with the higher intensity blue white lights as DRL's, though.

There are times I don't want my lights on when I have the key on and for that reason I'm going to install a toggle switch for mine.

Just engage your Parking Brake -- they will go off.

I always wonder, was it just too hard for the person to turn or pull those lights that extra bit to go from Parking lights to headlights? Parking lights are to be used while parked, not while driving.

What I wish for on my Silverado ('99) is a way to turn the lights off after dark and the truck is already running. i.e. stop at the store and one of us is going to run in while the other stays with the kids in the truck with it running. It is a pain to have to turn the truck off, set the parking brake, and then restart. It think the new ones have an off, auto, P, & H positions which is the way I think it should be.
