It was last Thursday that they drove out to my place to work on the machine. I called Friday to find out what was the issue, but no one was available to talk about it. I told the shop that I'd call back. When I called today (they were closed for the holiday on Monday) I was told by the owner that there was a clump of gelled fuel blocking the fuel line from the float to the pump. I'd only ran it to put it back in the garage, so had no idea it wasn't resolved yet until after I got off the phone with them and took the tractor down to do some work moving a trailer, etc.
That's when it died again, and I walked back up to the house and called the dealer. The guy I spoke with stated that they can measure fuel pump volume and do some additional diagnostics, but it will require a trip to the shop. I really hope that they can get it resolved. I'm starting to become concerned that
a. they do not have the skill to diagnose the problem correctly
b. they were blowing smoke up my pipe about the gelled fuel.
There was definitely gelling in the fuel float when I took it apart last week. When they were here to repair it, they filled the tank again, and I'm not sure if they drained it first or just topped it off. It may have still contained bad fuel, though I'm really doubting the fuel is the problem. I'm just really aggravated by this.
