Dead Deer Exposed

That would be horrible not to be able to get the skin off till you check it in. We get the skin off right away. It allows the meat to cool quickly, keeping it fresh, you would be shocked at how much heat the skin can hold in even at below 0 temps. My friend hung his deer with the skin on for 2 days, I couldn’t believe the steam that came off it when he skinned it and it was 17 degrees outside. In Washington you just have to have a tagged proof of sex and the deer can be exposed during transport.

Airport security was also mentioned. I fly back and forth to Japan all the time and I hate the security checks, I don’t feel safer, to be honest I feel like a helpless sheep. You know those vending machines for personal video players they have in major airports now. You put your credit card in and you get a DVD player and 2 movies. When you land you drop them in the box on your way out of the airport. I think they should have the same thing for pistols. They could shoot a bullet that wont pierce the skin of the plane. I would defiantly feel safer. Then at least I wouldn’t be a helpless sheep. I think the most fundamental right you have is to protect yourself and your family. That is the first right you give up to get on a plane. Every time I am taken into a room for a random search I ask, “tell me again how the terrorists did not win”?

Please know that I am not trying to make anyone mad these are my own opinions and I am not running for office so I am not a threat if you don’t agree with me. Be gentle. :)

Buck,
The issue we have in the south is with the bugs. If you strip the hide before you can process it, the bugs will jump righ in and help you out. Not a good thing. I would love to be able to hang my game overnight in the shop, just not possible here /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

As for the safty thing. I agree that I could protect myself prety well if they would let me. Unfortunatly, it was proven that most people wouldnt do anything if they faced an issue like a hijacking. The.........terrorists.... jacked these planes with BOX CUTTERS!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sorry that blows my mind..... Aside from a cut to the neck, rist or inner thigh, it would be realy difficult to kill someone. Hundreds of people watched, frozen as these "terrorists" ran their planes into the buildings. I'm not going down like that, obviously, many others in this country are..... If these poor folks on the planes were armed, frozen in fear, they would be more of a danger than a help. Even though it would provide the oportunity for someone like you or I to protect ourselves and others, it may be better to disarm everyone on the flight except the crew and Air Marshals.

BTW, did you hear about the guy in Miami today, Marshall killed him because he said he had a bomb as he was running away. Good, it shows something is happening even if it is behind the scenes and the media doesnt propegate it.

My biggest concern is the complacency most people have today. So many say, "they arent doing anthing to protect us, no one has hyjacked a plane since 9/11, lets go back to the way it was".. This too baffles me, whether it feels safer or not, life has changed forever... We havent seen another attack here since, they are doing something, but its good press, you wont hear about that...The medias constant questioning of our governments actions is what helps the "bad guys" win. If we continue to live our lives, refuse to forget what happened, and stop worrying about hurting someones feelings, we'll win.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifNot sure how we got on that subject, but I feel a bit better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif There are so many issues there that drive sensible folks nuts, it would get far too political I'm sure.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

UncleBuck, I would agree to a point BUT an elk is a whole lot bigger than a whitetail. If the animal is in the bed of my truck then don't look if your going to be offended. I'm not going to dance around others who might be offended. Anti's remind me of Looky Loos at an accident. They hate what they see but they can not stand looking the other way. Those same people will certainly be offended if they know there is an animal under the tarp. I do agree with you to some extent but I cant say I personally have seen many deer all bloodied up and hangin out. The most you usually see is the hoofs sticking out of the bed. Now the guys that fly down I-75 going 80 mph with tarps...Well that's another topic. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
