Sorry been a little busy the last few days fortifying our pen for the hogs. I still don't know what killed our goats. We've never seen any dogs running around or coyotes. Our house is so sound proof we couldn't have heard anything. We'll target practice out back sometimes and you can't even hear the shots in the house. We only had the four goats so we don't have anymore right now. Just the two pigs. We don't plan on getting anymore until we get an electric fence up and some kind of guard animal.

We're starting to really concider a donkey. Reason being is we don't really want the added expense of another dog. I don't want the expense of feeding and vet bills of another dog. The feed, heart worm, and flea medicine for the two dogs we have is enough. The reason we got goats to begin with was to keep the grass down in the pasture and ease of keeping them with virtually no expense to feed them. Same with the American Guinea Hogs we just got. They're pasture hogs that graze on pasture. No real expense with feed for them either. I'm going to start another thread to discuss donkeys.

Maybe two donkeys alone would keep the grass down? You would not have to worry about the donkey killing a goat or about the coyotes.
