Tractor
Tym T273
Need help! new at this tractor stuff. have a TYM 273hst . Used it spreading dirt and parked it for the night. Next day started tractor and no hydraulics. No steering ,no movement with loader or box blade. New filter on trans so it is not a collasped filter blocking flow.If it is a pump ,which one? There is one with the loader hoses coming out and two on other sideb which are gear pumps. Is there aqny way to test them? Thanks for any ideas B Smith

somebody will come along soon with more\better ideas. but first check all quick connect couplings they often look like they are right but may not be fully seated

Is it below freezing where you live?

If you have any power beyond or rear remotes and nothing is hooked up to them, make sure the levers are in neutral.

Actually disconnect and reconnect your quick couplings. Sometimes they push out and block flow.

Checked levers out and there was one that was no longer in neutral,so now loader moves but no steering yet. Thanks moved things so many times I left one where it should not have been. now I just have tom get the steering working!

Maddening when the hydraulics won't respond, isn't it? My neighbour eventually took pity on me and gave me a pressure gauge to snap into the quick-connect fittings to give me an idea of what was happening. Turns out my manual gave the wrong location for one lever. One 90 degree turn and all was well.

Just as a side note.. If you have levers that can lock in a detente, you should install a loop of hose when not in use. By running a deadheaded hydraulic pump you can destroy the pump. It doesn't take long to do that either. Glad the loade is back working again.

Hi besmith, I've got a TYM273 and that's a problem I've not had occur in 223 hrs use. Have you checked your sight glass to ensure that the hydraulic oil is full? If so, and no visible hydraulic leaks, my best guess would be one or more of your quick disconnects have gotten loose (as already suggested). Be sure that the 3pt hitch speed control valve beneath the seat is not fully closed, don't know how that might affect anything other than the 3pt but it's another area to check out. Good luck with it. Greg

The lever under the seat was not in the center.Moved it to center and loader and boxblade now work. Still no steering or no movement when engaging fwd or reverse. So still good vas dead. Will keep looking at everything whenever I have time.thanks

G'day i do not know your tractor but i would assume that trans and steering is run of one pump and aux hyd of another. I would doubt if there would be any quick connects on your steering as i would assume it would be a priority feed, if you can get to your steering valve easy then look for one of the two hoses that run to the trans and crack it open to see if you have oil flow, do not undo completely and do not get too close as hyd oil under press can do serious damage to your body.
