Fred,
I have a B2920 with the 65BH and the hole for the 3pt on mine is round and aligns correctly.
The bottom cradle on my bracket does look like yours as far as the welded on cradle and the little slot cut into the metal above. The pin that rests in that bottom cradle is tight as there is a bent flange on the BH pin which guides it into place. The top cradle is a looser fit with about a 1/4" clearance on each side...a little more play.
Having said that something seems off on your unit to make it that difficult to install. Alignment, a mount point on the tractor or BH itself, a defective side plate on the mounting bracket all need checked. I don't think you are being a PIA with a major investment on equipment. If someone is drilling and beating on the metal to correct something rather than approaching the problem with a little more logic would be a problem with me. Is this the first BH65 they have installed? I do think enlarging the hole for 3pt sliding rod tells part of the problem.
Have you tried this? When they take the tractor back to the shop, be there with them, and have someone unhook BH, drive away (so they replicate actual use rather than just unhooking in place which is easier) back in and hook it up. See what kind of luck (time) they have. Then install the new BH bracket.
Tom
p.s. I see your tire is off and I went back out and looked at my bracket and above the enlarged 3pt. hole there is a triangular pattern of three bolts on bracket and then two bolts on bracket on each side of axle. Hope this helps a little.
