Yep I'll name em.......... ...... Have spent a ton of money with these folks in recent years & I'm real disappointed at the moment.....

Bought a new B3200 and when I mounted the 72" MMM for the first time, it wasn't raising high enough to put in the stationary pins. Service manager sends out a tech who assures me all I need to do was put my 3T floor jack under it to raise it while I put the pins in. Sounded like BS to me, but knowing their service department, I figured it was as good as it was gonna get, so I decided to live with it..... until an invoice arrive for nearly $200 for their service call!!!!!!!! Now bear in mind this is a new tractor. I've haven't paid it & don't intend to. I'll see em in court!

Did the contract you signed when you bought your tractor say service calls will be covered ?

Using a jack to put in the pins does not sound like the proper way. Something is not adjusted correctly.
Have you talked to the service manager before or after the service call invoice? If not, that is your first step. Service guy may have just billed the standard call. You maybe getting excited over nothing.

Aside from the problem you have with the dealer on this issue , I have noticed that now days these dealer charges are in the hundreds of dollars..My NH dealer is 15 miles away but wants $200.00 to pick up my tractor...$400 round trip ...no matter what it needs....as a result it has never been to the dealer ...I either do it myself or find a local diesel mech. that does it on the side....Ridiculous...in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I've been to corporate with it & the jury is still out.......

First of all they should have shown you how everything works when it was delivered. Even if you already know they should show you just to go through the routine and make sure. You spent a pile of cash and it's just part of a safety/courtesy routine I believe they are supposed to do. Did they do that? I think they are supposed to have a check list or something.

I would go over that tractor with a fine tooth comb to see what else they screwed up when setting up the tractor. You should never have to use a jack to attach a mmm unless there is an underlying problem. As far as the dealer goes, your word of mouth would cost him a heck of a lot more than that $200 service call. I know I've cost ********** in Bloomingdale Ohio a ton of money, all because I tell people about the way they shafted me. I even keep the documents for proof. TYhen again, I go out of my way to tell people how well I'm always treated at Pytash Tractor in Toronto, Oh. Hope this all works out for you.

Help me understand. You don't have a lot of confidence in their service department, yet you have 'spent a ton of money with them'. Why?

Have you tried calling the service manager?

Have you tried calling the owner?

One of the reasons dealer bashing isn't allowed on TBN is we are only hearing one side of the story, not to mention the risk of libel. So, the name of the dealer has been removed.

I agree, but it was a service call.

Even if your steering wheel falls off in your hands and it's obviously a warranty item, if they come to your place, it's a service call.

That said, what does your contract say about "Service Calls" ?

The MMM on our B2410 was NOT correctly set from the dealer either, BUT even after I spent a couple HOURS following the OMs to the letter, you cannot insert the locking pins into the deck with it raised w/o a little help from your hand by lifting gently up about 1/4". I have checked and re-checked the adjustments and they are per specs.

Here is an example of a great dealer who went beyond what was necessary. I bought a JD 4520 from a dealer near where I live but the tractor spends most of the time on a farm 90 miles away. I had a minor A/C cooling issue this spring. The JD dealer near the farm, came out to the farm, which was 10 miles away, at no charge. I didn't even buy the tractor from him. I offered to haul the tractor to their shop but they said they will just have someone come by. Granted, by brother lives in the area and we do buy other machinery from them but that was beyond what was necessary or expected IMO. Makes me feel a little guilty I didn't buy the 4520 from them.

On my B3030 there are small brackets that hold the mower lift linkage in the stowed position when the mower is detached. These brackets have to be rotated and pinned up out of the way when the mower is installed or they can interfere with raising he deck completely.

I have forgotten to pin these brackets out of the way before and noticed the pins were out of alignment when the deck was lifted to the top position. Under normal conditions the pins slip right in.

Is it possible that there is something like this interfering and making it hard to put the pins in? Using a jack doesnt sound right.

First read the owners manual for the mower. I hope they provided one. Look at the mower is it attached correctly at the front. Most Kubota MMM are raised by rods attached to the three point lift arms. When the three point lift is raised the rods pull against the attachment on the front of the mower causing the mower to be raised. Walk around behind the tractor and look underneath the tractor towards the front. You should see a rod attached to an orange plate which is attached to one of the three point left arms. Look about half way down the length of the rod and you should see a turn buckle. This turn buckle is what is used to shorten on lengthen the rod. Now look on the top of the mower deck. On each side you should see a metal U shaped loop. Now look up towards the bottom of the tractor you should see a metal stop that will correspond to the metal loop on the mower deck. Now raise the mower deck to the full up position, you should have approximately one quarter inch clearance between the top of the loop on the mower deck and the metal stop on the bottom of the tractor. If the distance is greater than one quarter inch shorten each rod to obtain the quarter inch clearance. Be careful. Remember the mower deck is being raised by the three point left arms and serious damage can occur if the rod is shorten too much.
