Tractor
Mahindra 4110
I recently purchased a 4110 with the ML112 FEL, quick attach bucket and pallet forks. My dealer didn't have the QA system, the bucket or forks in stock so he ordered them from the warehouse and got everything in 2 days,Great, problem is they sent him the forks and the frame but not the bar that mounts the forks to the frame. He went ahead and delivered the tractor and the bucket and said he'd bring the forks out as soon as he got the missing part. It's been 2 weeks now and after repeated calls by the dealer and repeated promises by the warehouse that the part is "on it's way" we're still waiting.
My dealer has been great and and is getting as annoyed as I am. So after that long winded set up the question is, Is this a common problem for Mahindra dealers and can I expect the same problem if I need a part that's not in stock. Thanks

I would like to hear others' experiences as well.

About a month ago I took my 3510 (with 200 hrs. on it) in to my local dealer to have a PTO seal leak repaired - he wouldn't order the part until I brought it in.

After it stayed there 3 1/2 weeks and he still hadn't gotten the part in to do the repair, I told him I had to pick up my tractor and get back to work with it, to call me when he got the part in.

He told me he has called Mahindra parts dept. several times to find out why he hasn't received the part, that he just gets a recording each time and that he leaves a message, and no one is calling him back. He seems as frustrated as I am.

I realize this is a minor repair, so I'm not too worried about it, but wanted to have it done while it's still under warranty.

I wonder if others are having problems. I think mine is at least partly related to this is a very small (low volume) dealership.

My last email was cut off. I think you may be on to something about a low volume dealer. Parts should be in the pipeline, and readily available. My tractor was fixed a delivered back to me with a new fan, a clean engine compartment, and a clean exterior.

Rogue Valley Farm equipment in Southern Oregon, is tops! Musa marketing is A One, as well.

Judy,

Dealers order parts on-line and know immediately if the part is in stock or not. We can get most parts next day if the need is urgent. I just checked with Mahindra parts on-line (dealer function only), the PTO seal for a 3510 is in stock and your dealer can get it immediately.

You need to have a little talk with your dealer.

I'm surprised the dealer didn't have the items in stock, the QA system is very popular and most dealers have them on hand.

One problem could be the trucking company that is doing the shipping. My tractor took much longer than expected to make its journey from Georgia to Kentucky. It seems that the freight company held the load until they had another load in the area to pick up. This seems to be a common practice, as a nearby McCormick/Long dealer had a couple of McCormich GX series tractors that sat in Illinois for a month waiting to be brought on to Kentucky.

I would agree with Dave:
We order our parts our online, availibilty is shown when ordering the parts. Mahindra's parts distribution is in TX and we are in Connecticut and even ground service ordered by generally 1 pm TX. time is here in 3 days, warranty parts are generally overnighted.
Was the q/a and forks ordered by your dealer from Mahindra or another source?

Thanks for the info, he ordered everything from Mahindra, I'll ask about the dealers online parts ordering. I'm not sure where one draws the line between low volume and high volume, my dealer ( Dennis Polk Equipment) said he averages about one tractor a month and he is fairly well known for his antique tractor auctions at least in the Great Lakes area. As far as the QA system all the brochures showed a pin type QA but I got the skidloader type, I don't know if Mahindra is standardizing to this across the board or if I just got a bonus upgrade, either way I like it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But other than the fork issue (which I'm sure will be corrected) I'm very pleased with the tractor, the dealer and the service.

Thanks Again

How about an update? Have either of your dealers gotten your parts in? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I did get a call Friday - the 29th saying they have the seal in; so now I just have to find the time to make the 1 1/2 hr. round trip drive to get the tractor to him for the repair.

The pin on bucket is the standard non-QA type. When you get the QA it is the skidsteer type. IMO, this is better than the QA system some of the big brands use, as you don't have to buy the QA attachments from that tractor brand's dealers.
