Dearborn 2 bottomplow question

As stated I have a dearborn 2 bottom plow the guy I bought it from can not or is to lazy to find the coulters that he swears he has. I was just reading (diagnose plow problem) and saw that many of the plows pictured did not have coulters.and yesterday I was on the net looking at 2 bottom plows working and saw some with just 1 coulter.I have an old coulter that maybe I could rig up for mine question is which plow should the one coulter go in front of? if I only have the one. Not sure if I can rig somthing up anyway, there seems to be a lot of off set from the top frame arm to get to the front of the plow share.This has been compleatly rebuilt by me Shares, Shins, Landsides she is as good as new .But it makes a he!@ of a mess on unplowed ground.Otherwise it works well.Just needs (sod cutters)-coulters.any advice welcome. Thanks

Seems like a lot of the used plows around here get sold without the coulters and if you want them they're extra. If I only had one coulter, I'd use it on the rear plow, that way it would have a clean furrow to follow.

Most compact tractors are crowded for space to the point where the front coulters hit drawbars, 3-point hitch arms, ect. (Not all, but most...) It's fairly common to see the front coulters removed even if they came with the plow. Milkman nailed it too.....Rear coulter leaves you a clean furrow wall to guide off of on the next pass.

My old dearborn is the same way. Soemone rigged a coulter on the back plow, I'm trying to get one rigged on the front.

I've been plowing up old pastures that haven't been used in 20yrs, and getting a ton of sod balling up where I don't have the coulter. I laso have this problem in clay. So just an FYI, you may want to look for a generic one to weld on.

Never hit, but failrly close. In my case, I'd temporarily remove the drawbar before ever considering removing the coulter.

Unfortuneately, the bearings in mine are in bad shape. At some point, if I can find replacements, I'll be doing so.
