Yesterday I anxiously got out of bed and headed out to my building to start my first 50 hour service on my 2710. I called up the dealer and told him what I needed, however he only had the hydraulic filter in stock and would have to order the fluid and engine filter. After expressing my unhappiness with his inability to stock consumable parts, the parts guy disclosed to me that they just found out that they were dropping the Kubota line. The dealership was bought out by a bigger dealer and even though the Kubota line was very successful for them, the new owner wants them to focus on the new Case compact tractor line. After venting my frustration, I then came to the nasty realization that I was going to have to form a relationship with a new dealer. However, the dealer that I have to form this relationship with is the same dealer that tried to screw me on the price of the tractor. After a couple of phone calls I found that the pricing they have on parts is much more favorable then the equipment pricing structure they use. The thing that stings the most is that I got my best price from Carver when I was purchasing my tractor and I would be in the same position that I am in now if I would have just bought from them. Irony sucks!!!

What area do you live in? If it's populated enough, it shouldn't be long before a new Kubota dealer pops up, or one of the other local dealers (if there are any) with another line (NH or JD, for example) picks up the Kubota line...

Given the fact that the Case line is brand new (although based on the NH line) and nowhere near as complete as the Kubota line, it's somewhat surprising that a dealer would just drop the line entirely... many dealers carry multiple lines of tractors. It just would make more sense to me if they were to add the Case line to the Kubota line, rather than completely switch.

I get my parts from Carver Equip, even though I am in Calif and he's in NC. They have ALWAYS been extremely helpful. Heck the price of shipping isn't anymore than the price of gas to run around for parts.

I was told the same thing when my local dealership closed down. Hey, Brian!!! Any word on a new Kubota dealership in the East Bay?

Nothing yet. HV Carter the Jacobsen dealer was supposed to take it but decided not to.
