I posted this on the News/Feedback Forum (for the overall TBN forums, not brand-specific.) I'll avoid bringing it up further here.

The TBN forums badly need a "like" function -- some way to register enthusiastic agreement with a particular Post. It should NOT require a full fresh post taking up all that real estate and wasting so much time and resource on everyone's part. I'm no designer but a BIG red checkmark appended by the commenting person's nickname -- inserted within the applauded Post -- for example √ JWR seems ideal and should be easy to implement. Why not ??? We could get fancier with "small, medium and large" checkmark choices. Like √ √ √ to indicate degrees of enthusiasm, etc. but I would be really happy with just one available. Many others have agreed this would be a useful feature.

No kidding ! Thanks for that memory. For those who weren't aware , Muhammad is the overseer of many aspects of these TBN forums. I was not aware that he said that. If so,I do not buy it at all. This TBN mechanism is by far the largest community of its' kind. We/TBN certainly have worlds a plenty of clout to get a small software change or customization made. The "current software" needs a custom feature added in my view and the real question is how many users would favor it.

As Diggin It says "This is not Zuckerplace" (and no one detests facebook more than I do. I could go on and on about that.) Regardless of Zuckerman's unjustified success and wealth with facebook, I still say , as I did, that it would be very beneficial to have some means to quickly and easily concur without added verbs and another space and time consuming Post in order to do it.

Suggest this discussion be carried on (if at all) in the thread under the TBN News/Feedback Forum rather this Kubota Owning and Operating Forum.

I'm still waiting for him to apply the fix for mark forum as read in Tapatalk. It will mark the whole subcategory as read, not just the given forum. The tapatalk guys came up with a patch, but TBN has yet to apply it to the servers since I started pestering them about the bug & fix over a year ago.

TT is another one I despise. Forums like this should charge them for advertising every time a post appears with the inane add-on line 'sent with my silly phone gizmo via TT'.

Do some of you guys work for the government, you know, always willing to spend other peoples money and time but pay nothing yourselves? :laughing::laughing::laughing: Yep, a retired gvmnt worker myself and a happy free user of TBN for many years and also Facebook. So far neither has charged me a dime and I'm sure I could tell them both how to do a better job unless they want me to pay them some money. I utilized another tractor forum a few years before finding TBN so I appreciate TBN and no longer use the other forum which probably has like and thumbs up blocks to speed and go rather than make a bit of a contribution that may take 10 seconds instead of one. I know, I know you just want to contribute/give of your time a very, very, very small dose with little to no meaning. I also don't text, I prefer talking to people so we can be sure we're talking about the same thing and not some sort of regional difference confusing the conversation. Just me a happy TBN user. :cool2::cool2::cool2:

Very well said. I like that TBN does not have "like" buttons. Take a moment and let folks know what you liked or did not like about a comment. It is the content that makes TBN useful.

Ok, I read how everybody loves the LNL coupler and so I went on flea-bay and saw a few slightly different versions of the thing. I was hesitant to pay $29 for one of these but there are some for $13 that if they work, could be a good thing. Has anybody used one of these clone LNL couplers? Are they any good?

What works for the hobby owner that uses one or two tubes a year may be frustrating for someone who uses a tube or more a month. Your opinions would be more useful if you stated....."I use about x tubes of grease a year and use a ________" Another valid point made in this thread is that if you are greasing during winter (real cold temperatures) you may need a gun with higher pressure.

Although an expensive gun will work well for almost any application, it may not be needed for all applications.

BTW, I have a very cheap gun I have owned for over 30 years when I did my own car maintenance, and for the last half dozen years to grease my lawn tractor. I will keep using it for the JD I got this year until it breaks. I doubt it will be replaced by a $150 battery operated unit. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

I asked this somewhere before, but don't recall if I saw an answer or not. How do you clean an older gun with some of the grease hardened up? I have two or three that need to be taken apart and cleaned, including the hose and tips. Can they be soaked in Mineral Spirits or similar? Air to blow out the hoses?

I have never done it, but I would start with soaking it for a few days in mineral spirits or something like Gunk...but the Gunk may cost more than the old gun is worth. Unless the gun has some semimetal value, it looks like a decent new one is about $35... I know what I would do.
