JDFANATIC...as i understand, the mulch kit consists of baffles to keep the clippings confined for more cuts by the blades. It costs $146. So since my lawn gets cut between every 2 - 4 weeks depending on my work, should I mulch or stick with Gator blades? How are Gator blades different from standard blades? Also, is the mulch kit easy to uninstall/install and does it have special blades as well. I want to avoid a big mess in the yard. I don't have Kentucky type thick lush grass...it's a collection of different types of grass and varies in density and thickness according to ground moisture in different areas. Thanks for any more advice.

Engine66,

Check out this post (I think #22 are some pics I took): http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=41787&page=2
The mulch kit does take special blades that aren't compatible with the std. Deere blades or the Gators. I'm thinking that just a set of Gator Magnum (I just discussed the new Gator Predator blades with my dealer and he suggested I stick with the Magnums) would be a good place to start. From my experience they work great. I only picked up the mulch kit to see how it worked and was thinking they may have an advantage for leaves with the closed chute area.

Reference the JD 2305!!!!!

Does anyone see any solid reason why the Powerflo turbine will not work with the MC-519 cart.

Does anyone know what the cost would be without the bagger assembly?

Is there any compatibility problem with the Powerflo turbine and the GATOR
blades.

I have a MC-519 that I had a 3-pt hitch assembly built for - I use it on my JD2305 with a 62C deck and a JD PowerFlo kit. Works just fine.

Can't comment on the cost or the gator blades - bought mine used from a JD dealer and with the bagger assembly. Don't use gator blades as of now.

assuming they are similar, I have a mulch kit for a 42C mower. It goes on with one cap screw and wing nut. Takes about 5 minutes or less. You need to make sure you have mulch blades on though. The standard blades and mulch blades are not the same length.

Scott,

Could you please post a closeup picture of your modified hitch assembly for the JD 2305 and MC-519 cart. I have the cart on hand now. Also did you buy the POWERFLO KIT separately or with the bagger? My cart came with a POWERFLO KIT for the x425. I don't think that is the same as the one you have. Do you have a part number for the POWERFLO KIT that fits on the 62C
i did not get a manual on the POWERFLO KIT.

Powerflo prices, and numbers are on the Deere site under build your 2305. Hope this helps.

I'll do a write-up with photos this Spring when I'm switching out my snowblower for the MMM and bagger. It's all tucked away right now and not easy to get at until I do the "big switch".
