After 2 years of study I made the decision. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Questions I had about the machine, How good is it? Answer: Great! The forum gave me the answers. How can I justify the price? Easy, I have a bad back, /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif a pick, shovel & rake are not an option anymore. (plus,I wanted it) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I sent the order to Kristie and finalized the order. I bought everything I thought was needed and more. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
PT 425, Grappel Bucket, Large Bucket, 48" Mower, 48" Brush Cutter, snow blade, Mini Hoe & Forks. Did I forget anything? Of course, there's always room for more.
Great machine. I would have responded earlier but I was having too much fun, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I mean too busy starting all the projects the PT Cruiser (wife designation) has lined up.
After the order confirmation the shipper contacted me(next day) with deliverky dates. Of course the date was as soon as possible. Turned out to be that Saturday. The gentleman, a retired coal miner, made the delivery of machine with all the implements of construction. Unloaded the PT and all the implements onto the driveway. He asked if I would like to do the honors but I declined since I had never operated the machine. I would rather start slowly and become familiar with the operation of the machine. After making the payment for the delivery I started to check out all the implements.
While inspecting the new toys,tools /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I noticed the delivery driver was at the end of the driveway walking around the truck and trailer. I walked down the driveway, about 200 feet and saw that the gent had jackknifed the trailer with the left rear wheel of the truck stuck in the mud. We had just had about 4 days of rain making everything very soft. Well, with no time on the PT, the plan was to unhitch the trailer and try to pull the truck out of the muck. I quick attached(very nice feature) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif the forks to the PT and headed to unhitch the trailer. After removing the trailer from truck, the driver tried to move the truck while I was pulling the front of the truck with the mighty PT. Not enough weight, it was a no go. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The next idea was to try to lift the rear end of the truck using the mighty PT with the forks. Again, no go. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The PT rear end lifted instead. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Meanwhile the neighbor got curious and deceided to find out what all the noise and commotion were so early in the morning. He drove down in his truck and saw the problem.
Well, we ended up hooking his 4X4 and pulling the delivery guy from the muck and he finally started home. His comment was, "It takes a Dodge to pull those Fords out of trouble" /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif By the way, he did like the PT.
Well, thats my short story. Sorry for being so long winded.
I just wanted to thank everyone for all the information that is imparted on this forum. Hopefully, I will be able to provide to the same type of information for someone else on the fence of buying a machine sight unseen.
Now, where is the best place to mount my pitching wedge & a few extra balls. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
