I see B26's listed on here and fliers/web ads all of the time with 700-1000+ hours on them for $26,000+. Mine is a 2009 model with less than 150 hours and a hydraulic thumb that I've posted on several local sites and I'm not getting much response at all. I honestly felt like $23,500 would be a great deal to someone that needs this kind of machine. The only responses I'm getting are folks looking at the John Deere 1 series or BX's and wondering what makes this one so expensive.

Ok now I've vented... Do you guys think that $23,500 is realistic? Should I shoot lower or not bother selling at all?

Location, location, location. Wish I could have found one for that kind of price in my area!

Seems like a good price to me. For many, [the problem] is they can finance for low or 0% on a new machine, so they might be more inclined to go that route.

I've had a similar experience to yours with selling some bigger ticket items (boats and such). There is a sweet spot for sure- if you have time, just let it ride at the price you have set. It usually never pays to need to unload quickly.

I'll just sit tight for a while longer. I haven't even had an offer as of yet, just discouraging.

MissingTexas,

I think thats a very good price and I am thinking this might be a great replacement for my B21 with only 425 hrs - so I don't need a new one - I want more lift, QA bucket, and hyd thumb!

There are several drawbacks - distance / miles related to shipping $1 or so $1700 or in that range, and second the overall height to the top of the canopy.

I think the B26 O/A height is 93" is that correct? I have 8' door on the barn and the B21 at 88" clears fine, and the opening I have is just shy of 93".

The last hurdle is a new kitchen/expansion for the significant other - I know if I bring up the B26 the kitchen will be her bartering tool - you get that and I get a new kitchen so gotta be careful about these things..

I think that is a great price for someone. If I did not have my L3700, I would be the new owner of yours. At that price it will sell.

Not that I'm in the market for a B26 (I just lust after them - in fact I was sitting on one today at a local dealer), but where are you advertising it? I perused Tractorhouse maybe last week and don't recall seeing any B26's for under $26K or so. Some ads just said call for the price. So, point is maybe it's not being seen by the right potential buyers???

Carl, time to make a road trip !

This is a looong road trip 1707 miles from Jennings to where we are - but if its what MissingsTexas is representing this is a great machine.

I would have it shipped if it makes economic sense and have used Uship service for other things with great results.

Discussed with the significant other this evening and of course the cabinet door fell off in the kitchen today - broken hinge on the lazy susan door so need to repair that tonight but a new kitchen is imminent in any case.

The issue is my B21 is great, does most of what I want (neighbor has Cat 316 and excavator) so I dont "need it" - I want a B26 what can I say?

Stay tuned..

Carl

I hear ya...... my wife is getting a new kitchen also (on the slow, pay as you go plan). Hard to complain.... I get most of what I want.

Ductape,

One option is to do a replacement kitchen/cabinets/countertops, but now that kids are more or less gone and we are done with college its evolved into moving some walls, and adding a 3 seasons porch is part of the kitchen project so we can have a better overall flow.

Anyway I am still thinkng on the B26 and we shall see where this goes..

Thanks

Carl

I think your B26 would be ideal for my Washington place...

It really is too bad we are so many miles apart!!!

Not much of a Kubota fan but the B26 is the one model I would have no problem owning. :) Having looked for one myself I don't think your price is out of line.

I really appreciate all of the responses on here. I haven't posted anything on Tractorhouse or machinerytrader, or those sites yet as I haven't had the time. I really am going to miss having it, but I just can't justify having this kind of cash locked up in a machine that I'm only using 2 or 3 times a year (Backhoe). If I could sell just the backhoe I'd seriously consider doing so, but it's a dedicated implement that only fits the B26, and I don't believe there are too many folks that would by the B26 without the backhoe and then it'd be even more difficult to sell the tractor later on.

I hope we can work a deal Carl.

Hi Carl

The B26 is only about an inch taller than the B21. I had a B21 for 6 years and traded it for a B26 three years ago and they both fit through my 84" high door although the B26 is very tight - less than 1//2" clearance. If your door is 8' as you say you won't have any problem.

MissingInTexas

I too have had my B26 listed for sale since about December on a Canadian site (I live in the Toronto area) called Kijiji and have had a few inquiries but nothing serious. I have 520 hours on my 2008 with the auxiliary front hydraulics, the thumb, 4 backhoe buckets and have been asking CDN$27,000 hoping to get around $25,000 so I think your price is very good considering the lower number of hours. I love the B26 but have had a craving for an L45 for a number of years but could not afford it when I traded the B21 for the B26.

I am happy to say that circumstances are very good for me right now and so at the end of the month I am trading my B26 in for a brand new L45. As others have pointed out, the financing right now on new machines is so low that unless someone has cash for a used machine it is hard to justify the extra expense. FYI I have used the same dealer for all of my Kubota purchases and he has offered me $24,000 for my B26 towards the L45 which is fine by me.

Good luck to both of you in acquiring and getting rid of a B26!

Regards,

Lauren

If my dealer would have offered me $24,000 towards anything on his lot I probably would have taken that. He just doesn't sell too many of these smaller TLBs and he was only willing to go as high as $16,000 so here I am. No hard feelings toward them, they're in business to make money and I'm well aware that if he buys this machine from me he could have it sitting on his lot for a few years waiting for the right guy to come along. There are a few auction guys around here that think they could fetch more than what I'm asking for it, but it's a gamble and an expensive one if it didn't sell.

I am in the market for a B21, would like to have a B26 but for the difference in specs vs price I cant see it. Maybe there is something not evident in the specs. Since I have 2 guys here one with a B21 and other with a B26 Perhaps you guys can enlighten me. According to the specs on TractorData the tires are the same size, the wheel base is only 1.8 larger on B26, 168 lbs. heavier, Oil flow about the same as best I can tell, so why are used B26's listed in the mid $20K when I can buy a B21 for $12k. (when I can find one that is)

One advantage of the b21 over the 26 in my book is the armour plate used over the engine compartment... it is a feature that was not carried over to the b26

Age would be the difference in my opinion.

Listed isn't sold. Nobody in their right mind would pay $26k for a machine with 700 hours on it that costs little more than $30k new.

$23.5k sounds like a good price for your rig. I'd wait - selling season is coming up...
