So I have been using my deere to run a post hole auger. It's not quite as simple as it sounds. I have to use both spools to get the auger to run. The #1 spool has to be put in float and connect a hose to it; the other "pressure" hose connects to the #2 spool and controls the rotation of the auger. I don't understand exactly why that's the only way it will work but that's what I got figured out.
Anyways, I tried using a regular cylinder on my bale grabber the other day using the #1 scv and I had power one direction, none the other, and the float detent still worked. No problem, I thought I had a coupler that wasn't seated fully or a frozen coupler. So I tried my best to make sure everything was seated correctly and nothing. So I switched the hoses to the #2 scv and everything worked fine. Ok, we got a more serious problem. I again tried making sure the couplers were seated all the way in the #1 scv. Still same problem. From what I can figure out and I'm basically looking for a confirmation on this; I think I have some sort of blockage in the spool on the tractor. The reason I say this is I can hear the hydraulic pump bogging the motor down no matter which direction I pull/push the lever. Is my only option to basically tear the spools out of the tractor and clean them? Not too big of a deal except I'm going to have to do it outside in this wonderful PA weather. I can see the hose jump on the good side of the spool when I put pressure to it from the spool, but not the other. Any other ideas?
