deere 110 tlb overheating

Please answer this...
If I'm wrong, correct me.
1) tractor was running fine, didn't overheat, all was well.
2) "Head gasket had a small break" was noticed.
3) NOW! IMPORTANT!: Head gasket was replaced and a machine shop checked everything (head & block).
4) after head gasket replacement, that's when overheating issue started (yes/no).
5) at THIS point it gets the "shotgun" treatment...water pump, radiator, thermostat, cap, hoses...everything in the cooling system is replaced (yes/no).
6) at what specific point did it start overheating?????
One last time...
Answers to my questions should help...
Could they be answered?

Tractor was overheating prior to head repair. It was the reason we had the mechanic take the head to the machine shop.prior to the head repair I had the radiator recored, replaced the water pump and hoses. Ran an exhaust gas in coolant test, and pressure test. All checked ok.machine was still pushing fluid out so pulled the head.gasket showed small break.sent the head in. Mechanic used bright light and straight edge deemed block probably ok. Reinstalled head.at proper run in re torque.same problem thought maybe we had faulty pump or bad recore and reorder all from deere dealer. Installed all retested same results.machine started overheating before the head work. Not a sudden change. Slowly got worse.

Was the head leak between cylinders or from one to the water jacket? If into the water jacket, thinking back to my youth, I would want to try cleaning the passages in the block by flushing with acid? Because you say it has gotten slowly worse, I am inclined to think there is something building up in the water jacket passages. The other thought I have is that I have seen, in the past, head gaskets installed upside down. If so, some of the water holes could be occluded. Last thought is the head gasket, itself. Could it have been made without all of the holes punched out? I have seen that on rare occasion. If you end up taking the head off, again, match it up with the old one to be sure they are identical (minus the leak, of course).

It was a freak thing that happened to an acquaintance years ago. The impeller was loose on the shaft and grabbed sometimes and sometimes didn’t. It was a new water pump too. A difficult thing to find.

I also thought about wrong head gasket, wrong install. Of course I realize it takes hours to check these things out.

Sorry I just saw this as it was 'featured' in the TBN weekly email, and currently do not have the time to read every post. I doubt it would be this, but someone mentioned air pockets. with current vehicles (and likely equipment) a vacuum bleed of cooling system must be performed. A non tool truck complete kit should be under $100. just something to consider, and then you will always have it for the future. also I have seen different fluid for diesels vs gas when checking for combustion gasses in coolant. Have not done any research, just stating that I have seen it. also sometimes the gases will only be present when hot (overheating) or under load--sot it would pass under normal conditions. good luck

I checked the combustion test fluid by just pumping the bulb a couple of times by the exhaust abd it imediatelu turned color. No change on coolant tank when bubbling.i have a vacume oil change set up may I will adapt it. Leaning to a flush with an external pump so I can monitor any debris

Good day. Have not posted for a while.
One thing that bothers me is the source of the air in the system,, often that is a problem in any cooling system as air bubbles can really raise havoc as they do not cool at all, just the opposite.
Air can can come from hoses, head gaskets, water pump seals etc.
Another item, are there any additional coolers attached to the rad, like hydraulic or transmission. If these systems are hot they are going to heat the rad, usually if this is the case the temp in these auxiliary system will heat very quickly indicating that main cause of heating.
