I can certainly understand that your JD110 TLB is great.
It is quite likely that most of them are great.
The potential for a case crack "scare" though, is the very reason that I could just not bring myself to do it.
Whatever the odds.....there is that somewhat less than stellar JD110 history.

Somewhere there was a thread where the owner replicated a bell housing by hogging out a billit...

Seems most tractors have something... I know my BX had two... the belly plastic cooling fan and air cleaner bracket...

Extended operation with broken fan leads to more expensive problems.

I've had a 110 TLB for about a year. They seem to bring between 30-35K around here no matter what. Did see one sell in the high 30's a few years ago due to low hours but didn't have any Aux hydraulics at all (3rd function/7th function/3 SCV)

I like the tractor, no issues with cracked bell housing here, just need to ensure the loader mast bolts stay torqued. That said my tractor hasn't been abused in the loader area and was never a rental. It was used as a PTO tractor for bush hogging, box scraping and Harley Raking most of its life. The model ran for 10 years with one main change after the first year or two. Not many compact tractors, or any that I can think of have the extra 3rd hydraulic pump that is dedicated to run the loader & backhoe. I believe the other two pumps are dedicated to the hydrostat and steering. My favorite feature about it is the low profile sloped hood. Makes using pallet forks a breeze due perfect visibility, or any front tool for that matter.

If all I needed was a hoe, I'd be looking to pick up a mini-ex. My other tractor does not have a bucket, so this 110 with a thumb and 4-1 bucket and abilty to utilize implements with a 3pt. seemed to fit the bill

Correct!
A mini excavator is for digging, and lifting things.
A TLB is for those things also, but also for grappling, and moving dirt, relatively quickly from place to place..... beyond just a short mini-ex reach.

A contractor bought a 110 about the same time I bought mine. He said he was going to use it primarily with a box blade grading day in and day out. Said the hoe would be secondary and not used much.
