Look for a trailer at the same time.

Nice Diamond C. They are taking over the trailer world! I have a 25' FMAX 210SS and a 12' UTV trailer. Wanted to go with 8k torsion axles vs 7k but the 10K hutch was about the same price so I went for the extra beef. I do have a class A CDL however.

I looked around a while before settling on the Diamond C. They are good. Glad to hear you had good experience with yours!

My 110 fits nicely on 18' PJ with tilt up ramps, 12k rated de-rated to 9980.

Gotta be mighty close, at 9980 trailer GVW.
JD 110 weighs 7600 lb. (+ fuel).
That leaves only 2380 lbs. for 18' trailer wt.
Maybe......but VERY CLOSE.
My 20' 14K "Quality Steel & Aluminum" trailer weighs 3,300 lbs. can't quite imagine that a 2' shorter trailer actually weighs 920 lbs. less.

Trailer is a 12'000 pound trailer but is tagged in California at 9980 pounds.

The reason for the under 10k tags is to avoid requirement for commercial drivers license which kicks in at 10,000 pounds excluding recreational vehicles...

One of the docs has a huge 5th wheel trailer and 3 axle boat trailer... no special license needed but if I tow a 12k empty flat bed I need a commercial license.

Trailer and 110 sold new as a package with tie downs etc...

Oh.....I completely understand the reason for derating.
My point is, that if you were actually weighed on DOT scales, wouldn't you be on the ragged edge of an overweight fine?

Maybe the tongue weight saved the day... he towed with 1 ton Dodge Flatbed...

I neglected to consider the tongue weight.
