The little 9N Fords had a solution for that. A pair of stabilizer arms that went from the pin on the drawbar to the top link. On the downside, that also eliminated height adjustment IIRC.

The same concept allowed me to pick up a #7 backhoe for my 955. The guy that had it modified it to fit the 3pt on his Allis Chalmers. He didn't want it anymore because "it was too small to dig". In reality, every time he tried to sink the bucket in the ground, it just lifted up the 3pt linkage.
