Deere 4044R or Kubota L3560

69SS when you get your air ride seat make sure you INCLUDE a fore-and-aft isolater as well. MASSIVE difference between a seat without and a seat with fore-and-aft isolater. Your back will thank you. I had chronic back pain for 22 years before I found a treatment that worked. A later job was with an AG contractor and I would do 1200 hrs in 5months. That tractor had a 2 way seat, ie up and down AND fore and aft isolaters on it.
A point to consider, are you long bodied or average? On some tractors a big bump will have me hitting the roof LITERALY. At full seat height how much clearance do you have. Also if the AC is mounted in the roof how much clearance do you have?
I have not tried either tractor you are looking at but I hit the roof in some 5***e models(a pain in the head and neck).
BE PARTICULAR and stick to your guns.

I have an earlier model - L4240HSTC - and the response is adjustable via a dial on the left side of the dash. I keep mine at the midpoint, so although the dial is nice I never use it.

I also have an older model Kubota 2006 M59 with HST+ and agree that the 3 range HST plus the 2 speed rear end is the best transmission I've encountered. I had some fears about its reliability at first, but now with over 1000 hrs of mostly hard TLB loader work it still functions like new.
Speaking of functions, the intellipanel is nice. Right below intellipanel the HST response speed (attack rate) is adjustable with a dial, and various other ways fine tuning how the HST+ works with auto-throttle are available via control panel switches and levers, including a lever for "creeping".

At the time we bought this 60 hp Kubota, JD didn't have anything even close to comperable in features. They probably do now, but I haven't been by to check in the last few years.

I went from a JD 5075M to a Kubota M8540C. Once I sold the Kubota I went back to Deere. It's something you'll best figure out after running one for a while unfortunately. I ran several tractors back to back before buying my 4052R. It just runs great and feels better than the competition to me.

Yep, if competition is doing its job then tomorrow we will see a whole different brand in first place. I wonder if it will be one of the European tractor makers? Or one we haven't even seen yet?

Hello all ,1 payment left on 2015 L 3901 Kubota w 282 hrs. Allergies really bad so going with cab tractor w AC.4 plates,8 screws in neck from rear end last year. Both tractors close on price, trade in varies from either dealer. Air ride seat. Looking at around 340.00 monthly pmt. w 0% interest for 5 yrs. Deere has no extended warranty, Kubota makes you buy extended warranty for 0%,48.00 per month!. Done got old n beat up so need for AC and air ride seat. Anyone care to give advice or have anything to share about either of these tractors? July 25 last payment, have been to both dealers and have started credit approval process ,both dealers aware of my intent. Looking for advice. Which tractor is best. Thanks
I looked at both the L60 series and the Deere 4 series a couple of years ago. The downside on the Deere: The AC sucked in the Texas heat, and cab was pretty cramped. The upside feature was the ability to access the creep gear from the back fender well of the machine to hook up 3 pt implements. If you use a quick hitch this would be negated with most implements that support one.

All in all I liked both machines. If you are getting the same quote for a 4044 and a 3560 I would go with the 4044 for more HP.

I would say that going from an L to a Grand L or the Deere with a cab I would want at least an extra 5 hp if I felt my 3901's power was about right for my needs. I have a 40 series GL and I can't imagine going without the high/ low HST+ transmission. But I do things like blow snow (not much of an issue in SC) where I can 'shift gears' without actually shifting. But I us it when using the loader. In fact I rarely ever shift out of M gear thanks to the HST+. I don't use the auto throttle much but do like the stall guard. I would go to a dealer and try it out and have the dealer show you how it works and how useful it is.
