Deere 790 Value????

Upgraded from a 2 acre house to a 20+ acre farm. Thinking about a hay operation on the wide open 20 acres? Looking at keeping my JD 790, loader, backhoe, 165 hours or trading it in on a used JD 4720, loader, backhoe (300 hours)? I know I don't need 2 backhoes or loaders. So do I sell the loader and backhoe from the 790 or do I trade the whole unit? What's the value of my JD 790?

Are you planning on haying with this tractor? If so, the 790 is pretty small for hay operations. Not sure about the 4720. A few more details about your needs will help.

I'd think that your 790 would sell better as a package rather than sellin' off the loader and backhoe piece by piece.

The 790 can get into smaller areas like tilling a garden spot or cleaning up a corral or barn much easier than the 4720 but for the most part; having a 4720 and a 790 is inefficient duplication - IMO.

The money you'd free up sellin' the 790 could be put towards a disc mower or rake or tedder that the 4720 would really shine at runnin'!

Several threads here regarding hay production with a CUT - 4x20 series tractors. It can be done - however, there are questions regarding how the machines will stand the test of time and extended use mowing and baling.

4720 is too small for haying...

Run the JD selector option and see what they recommend...

5525 is much better suited to hay production for not alot more money.

I'd check on trading the whole thing, but I'd think selling the back hoe seperate then the tractor with the front end loader would get you more $$$ in the end.
