Deere model 100 Corn picker

i was given a model 100 corn picker last fall. The problem is that no one in my area can tell me how it attaches to the tractor, and i cant find an owners manual anywhere.. Can someone help please with a website or some picks or anything?

You can go to JDparts.com and view the parts catalog for a model 100. I looked and for the model 100 the PC IS # 159.the mounting brackets for a JD model A,B & G tractors are on page 60-2. I'm a former JD dealer employee(over 20 yrs) so I thought I'd try to assist you as some of the JD website can be difficult for a newbie. If someone will instruct me I'd post a photo(pdf) of the brackets for you to view.

Jim is excatly right ... you will need these brackets. Also keep in mind it was for the A,B and G tractors ... so, those brackets will not without some degree of mfg'ing work on todays tractors. There should also be sway bars to keep the picker in line with the tractor.

The man that gave it to me said he was running it with a MF 135, same as i have, but he's 85+ years old and isn't able to instruct me on the finer points of it. I have hooked up tp the pto and it runs well, albeit a little noisy, which doesn't bother me, Because then I cant hear the wife saying she needs help with the dishes

From the Looks of the manual, the machine is equipped with the quick attach system shown on page 65-2.. but i cant be positive until i get the manual printed off and compare it when i get home. And thanks for the help jim and blueriver .. now all i need to find is an owners manual

The quik-tach on page 65-2 uses a ball plus I think the hook part key #15 (J16962N) to keep picker inline with the tractor.

And if I recall the ball also has to have the stabilizers to keep it in line ... very little side to side free play ... now keep this in mind, been a couple years!!

Jim, Seems as if everyday we are reminded of our youth and have to tap the old memory bank ... I had one of these just a few years ago. Growing up on a dairy, hog and beef cattle farm we had corn. I love a corn field and always have wanted one here in Oklahoma ..so 3 years ago I broke ground for a corn field ... small 5 acres to test it. All my friends and neighbors thought I lost my mind ... well I put the cart before the horse or perhaps the better words are the picker before the corn!!

I bought it, hauled it home with big intentions ... it had all the mounting brackets and my plan was to re do them to fit 3 point hitch ... well as I watched the summer sun and lack of rain burn up my corn on this sandy loam/clay based ground ... I also watched the weds grow tall around the picker ... that fall I advertised it for sale and that 5 acres is once again grass!!!
