Problem Solved!! :)

It turns out to be the seat switch. Apparently, my butt isn't heavy enough!

That is a great story; got a laugh out of that one! You should let the guys at your dealer know too. I think you could stick some foam or something on top of the seat switch - it really shouldn't be that sensitive. Or a cinder block on your lap!

Regarding the rock pickup, you may find that it does that less after the tires wear in a bit - depends on the exact size of the rocks. I am sure you could rig up a fender if it bothers you, but I suspect it will bug you less after your deck picks up some other "beauty marks."

Very nice unit - I am sure it will serve you well. I ended up with a 455 after my Dad was done with it, and it is a pleasure to use, every time. Expensive, but as with all tools, the satisfaction of having the best will stay with you long after the payments are forgotten.

Another trick i've used is to place a small piece of foam tape on the seat where the switch button contacts it.
You may be able to gain enough distance that way to keep the switch on;depending on how thick of a piece of foam tape you can get by with.

Skidoo take the seat apart and check the pressure pack for leakage. I had the same problem with a ZD21 found that Fontaine in Florida knew they were defective. Your weight determines a resistance within a range that the PLC safety interlock determines in what Kubota calls a combination box ( not familiar with what Deere calls it ) but it is a Programable Logic Circuit interfaced mechanically with interlocks ( micro-switches) that shuts the air/fuel off the engine when you leave the seat without the park brake set and in neutral. Its Liability Lawyer proof dude, as ever a fan of LB and I'm begging my wife to buy one. GR2000 has lots of problems Vs this new X749. Price tag scares me but itsthe ultimate AWS AWD mower ever produced so far. Talk about commitment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love pulling Deeres with my Kubotas, but this one might put my G series to shame...

Several weeks ago, we had a warm day where I could drive it around and try it out. All I can say is WOW, this is real pleasure to drive on the hilly terrain and around trees! Now that I know the problem with the switch, I'll either live with it, or when there are more warm days, spend a little time and figure something appropriate (I am an electrical engineer).

I'll see if I can get my hands on the schematic and study their terms and logic. I find (after owning eight Kubota(s) 30 years experience, three college degrees later), Deere has a user friendly design on most their products compared to Kubota. And, I don't mean homeowner repairs, I'm talking hydraulics, weldments, decks, general design and function. It takes me half the time to repair my neighbors Deere(s) than repair a comparable K. I find the Deere Dealers to be friends rather than.... well I won't discredit K. attitudes they need them to survive in their Krasion World and production plants. Later....

My 748 had the seat bypassed and the RIO ( I really hate RIO) bypassed within 20 minutes of getting home. It is real easy to restore when I trade it too. Did the same to my 355D. You won't have trouble figuring it out.

With the hills you have though, you may want the seat switch. I don't have hill big enough to tip over.

I wasn't too concerned with the seat switch, it was the RIO on my X744 that I also disabled immediately. The X7xx series can run the rear PTO off the seat which made me happy. We have a JD1445 which has a very sensitive seat switch. One of our operators - a real lean skinny kid - kept having problems having the machine shutting down on him, even though the seat has a weight adjustment on it. Hey, enjoy that 749
