Yet another reason for the higher price for the Deere model. I got two sets of bolts, one long and one short to accomodate different thickness wheels and spokes. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

"I have to admit another thing about my tractor, my wife bought it". This must be the day for confessions - the missus got the 955 for my birthday a few years ago. There, that feels much better /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Gary,

I purchased a black spinner knob with a yellow JD logo from my dealer. After a few years of use the JD logo has worn off and now it is just a black spinner knob. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The next one I buy will be a generic black knob.

Gee, maybe after years of use, the black will have worn off and you'll have a JD spinner knob! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now that you guys have figured out how to mount the spinners to your steering wheels, check this out. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It takes a little time, but I think it is worth it. Looks factory installed. Hardest part is reinstalling the rubber boot over the assembly. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I did this to my old 445 as I had many trees to mow around. And it was the first modification I made to my 2210 when I purchased it. Check out the pictures. If anyone is interested in the details for the installation, let me know and I'll write up some instructions. Sorry, no welding required. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif You might be able to justify a grinder to make a tapered washer though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another view. Notice the lack of brackets and exposed nuts and bolts.

A view from the bottom. Nice and clean, nothing to hit your knee with.

Nice work there, neighbor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It's always easy to spot you 'engineering types' among us. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You drilled your steering wheel? Isn't there a saftey issues with that?

Seriously though, it looks pretty good that way, and it gets the spinner a little farther from the center thus improving control.
