My neighbor has a Kubota LX3310 that he is having a problem with regen system. The first issue is he hardly uses enough rpms. I have told him he won't break it so start running 2000rpm+ but he just won't. He doesn't know what the lights on the dash mean and he will shut it down during a regen. The tractor has been at the dealer enough that they are telling him it no longer will be under warranty. I went over and discussed the regen procedure in the manual with him and I don't know if it will help. They need to be operated within certain parameters.
I had that problem with my FIL borrowing my Deere 4044M. I was told and read it had to run at 1500 RPMs to avoid regen mode. I do everything at 1500 plus and use gears to go slower or faster. FIL had no idea, and told me it got louder when he was using it. I suspect he turned it off while in regen. He had never run a tractor at higher RPMs. It eventually went out of regen mode, but it took way longer than normal. I almost never see regen running at the designed RPMs.

This topic sure hit some hot buttons, didn't it? And for good reasons too. Every once in a while I get behind a vehicle that about gags me with unburned fuel in its exhaust. It's pretty rare for that to happen to me these days and I am thankful for that.

I am all for an effective catalytic system that is relatively maintenance free and EFFECTIVE. But this DEF thing for diesels definitely went overboard. Now adding insult to injury it may go away? Just to maybe come back again in another administration? It is this kind of stuff that is maddening to me, mechanics and manufacturers, etc and gee whiz? Who pays for all this stuff?

Most of the pollution controls everyone complains about would not be necessary if spark ignition and compression ignition engines were converted to run on Hydrogen gas. Super clean burning and emits only CO2 and water vapor. No problems with fuel spills. Hydrogen could even run the big marine diesels in ships.

We could continue to use the highly developed internal combustion engines we have and not have to deal with the pollution caused by mining rare metals and by electric cars abandoned after their battery service life is over. Those are problems just coming up on the horizon now, which will become big ones after the switch to EVs.

Hydrogen could be made anywhere there is electric power, no chance of fuel spills transporting it long distances.

Around 2010, the US government and the environmental scientists were very interested in Hydrogen, but that faded out for some reason. It could have been made by using renewable electric energy.

Another source of electricity with little pollution would be the new very deep geothermal energy generation plants which are just being designed now.

Hope some attention gets paid to this. Might be a better alternative.

A large drill bit.
In my case, I found the manufacturer had written a program due to supply issues during covid. That is now loaded on mine and there was nothing else to do. No particulate filters on this one to deal with.

Hydrogen takes more energy to make than what it’s worth. It’s also explosive. Have you seen the videos of CNG garbage trucks exploding?

Hydrogen is not a real feasible solution.

Pump diesel cash price in middle TN. area is 3.299. Why do you think over $1.00 gallon difference?
Taxes. Why my brother a state away pays close to $2 a gallon more than I do.

Don't hold your breath. Yes, he has done a few good things, but not in a way that they actually get done, or will last. Look at "the wall"... materials, paid for by us, rotting by the border, never to be used. Besides, any singular judge in any jurisdiction will negate anything he does, and he's already said that he will follow the orders of any judge anywhere. That's the name of the game... promise what is popular and good, knowing all the time that nothing will ever come of it. Hell loves it when a plan comes together. Yet another reason I stick with my 25 yr old tractor, which will prayerfully last longer than me.

Yep, people ***** and complain about roads and other infrastructure when they are in bad shape, but don't want to pay for maintaining them, they think it should be free.
That's because they never actually fix them. They use substandard materials, the cost is 100x what it should be and they never fix a damn thing. They'd rather add or convert a lane to carpool then charge a toll for the rest to use them. I towed years ago through Chicago heading to Pittsburgh, I-90 was tolled in this area, on top of gas taxes I had the privilege of paying about $100 in tolls to drive on a very crappy road that fried my rear tires. I couldn't safely go over 45 the road was so bad pushing my trailer all over the place in these ruts. Fried my new rear tires that unfortunately were hard to get at the time. Never went through that area again.
