hehe I've done this many a time. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going crazy. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

True, but in this case we see no record of even that happening.

( That's correct. That's why it's important to reply to the actual message and not just the last message in the thread.....)
/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Does this mean I would need to reply to v8dave instead of Inspector507, in this example. I don't see a way to just reply to the thread, and not a specific poster.

Does this also mean that the effects cascade down the line? If Inspector507's post were removed, my reply would be removed and your reply to me would be removed also?

Yes.

You click the reply button at whoever you are directly replying to. Not just the last one. It is a little more obvious if you use the threaded view vs. flat mode.

Yes, that is the "lost" post. It wasn't there yesterday when I looked--several times. What happened?

I am not sure about the 'cascade' effect, Muhammad?

I don't see a way to just reply to the thread, and not a specific poster.
My personal practice is to always Reply to the message (and therefore the person) that prompted me to jump into the thread, whether that's the person who started the thread or someone else. I also usually quote from their message (unless the context is clear) so it's clear what I am responding to. If I just want to reply to the thread, then I Reply to the person who started the thread.

Perhaps your computer didn't refresh and you were looking at a cached view of posts?

Guess you'll have to edit your original post for a second time. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

( None of your posts have been deleted. As others mentioned, perhaps you forgot to fully post it? You can see a list of all your recent posts by going to your own profile and clicking on the "Show all posts by" link.

As a general rule, when posts are removed, the moderator/admin who removes them sends a PM to the poster letting them know why it was removed. )

Muhammed, thank you for the response.

I don't know what happened. As noted above, the post now appears in this thread when I click on the URL above. It however, still does not appear when I go to the thread directly. Maybe others see it and I don't? One of the mysteries of life, as I tell my kids.

I am about to log off, delete the TBN cookie(s), reboot and try again. I'll come back and post an update.

I keep recommending a very simple fix for missing posts or weird display of posts: the refresh button. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

As I just explained in another thread, what probably happened is your browser was loading a page from its cache (temporary internet files)... had you refreshed that page, the post probably would have appeared.
