Well I got another call from the dealer today and John Deere has again revised the delivery date. They moved it up from April 5 to mid February. That is a big improvement. Apparently they are refining the supply chain for the various parts. Sure was nice to get that phone call even though the Feb. date is much later than my originally promised date of the end of November 2010. :)

Un-real.

Deere is giving you the run around and an emotional rollercoster ride. Hey, we love our tractors so, yes, an emotional run-a-around.

That is really poor customer relations. I don't think I could stick with that order. I would travel and try to find what would suit my needs.

I feel for ya though that doesn't move things along.

Have you looked at Kubota.?? I would.

Greetings all - Yes, I seriously looked at Kubota. I don't think I could get used to having both brake pedals on the same side of the console as the hydro pedals. I frequently find myself tapping a brake pedal to keep the snowblower or blade on track when I am moving heavy snow here in Northern Minnesota and the steering is slipping a little. Kubota suggests setting the cruise control but I find that impractical when blowing snow and "feeling" for the road side etc. Well the updated delivery has now been moved from mid February to January 24Th ----still a long ways from the original indicated date of late November 2010 but at least it has moved in the right direction.

Chuck my X749 was waiting at the dealer when I got back home. I agree with Rob on trying to find a base 3720 cab on another lot. Most dealers would have found you a tractor and added the options to fit your needs.

I live in Southern MN (banana belt ;) ) but travel to my cabin in Northern Mn quite often. Seems to me I have seen 3x20 tractors with cabs sitting in dealer inventories....as I drive past the sales lots.

Cant your dealer do a trade with somebody?? Seems like too long of a wait to me. :confused2:

Delivery times ceratainly do vary. I also ordered the 3038e and attachments Oct 22nd, in Central Pa. from a smaller dealer. he had one sitting outside but I wanted a new one...he ordered everything, tractor, loader, post hole digger, tiller, I hitch (hope thatis useful) and delivery was slated for either November 18th or Dec. 1. I just got the word it arrived December 15th and it will be delivered to my farmette Monday.
Patience is a virtue and hopefully the tractor will be there for me for many years to come.

I feel your pain, but I wouldn't blame JD or your dealer too much. I ordered a Massey Ferguson in Feb. 10 and didn't take delivery until July 10. I tried buying a JD, but they were in the same situation. Demand far out paced their estimates and the factories were caught without the ability to build sufficient quantities. Waiting sucks, but I don't think you have much of a choice.

:( :( :( :( :(

Oh my, will it ever arrive? The dealer just called and said the delivery date for my JD 3720 cab model has slipped from January 24th to February 11th. All the expected explanations--------bad weather, plant closed, supply chain interrupted etc. That will make it about 115 days from the time I placed the order until it arrives at the dealer. So if you are thinking about a new one for spring best make up your mind and get that order in!!

that is hard to handle...I just traded in my 3720 cab for a 4720 cab and the tractor (and attachments) came in about a week ahead of schudle...I lucked out. Overall, I waited about 3 weeks. My understanding is once JD issues a PIN on your equipment, it should be shipped in a few days. I don't understand with tracking tech these days, one can't "watch" the status of the order each day.

stay tuned

I am told the tractor was shipped on Feb 4 and should arrive at dealer in northern Minnesota on Valentines day Feb 14. I will keep you updated. Bottom line ....................DO NOT EXPECT OVERNIGHT DELIVERY

Sorry for your wait! I bought a new JD a few weeks ago (not as nice as yours...) and it was delivered in a couple of hours. Thats a tough wait...

So to recap, ordered the 3038E with front loader and a bush hog and tiller October 25th or so, the tractor with the loader arrived at the farmette the 28th of December (in time before there was any serious snow). The attachemnts were back ordered, but it was the bucket needed for snow removal anyway (a plow I know is better) . The attachments arrived two weeks ago mid January.
FYI my ex-wife (and best friend) who knows tractors has been using it to do just that since I work overseas in Indonesia and get home maybe twice a year. I am looking forward to a Spring trip home to take my first ride, cut the grass in the pasture and till the garden and take a break from a stressful job. Anyway, she says it is easy to drive and handle and she has driven alot of tractors (her family has a 180 acre farm in Greene County). Well worth the wait I think and hope.

My 3720 with Deluxe Cab arrived at the dealer very late on Monday. It has been on order since October 20 - total of 117 days or nearly four months. Of course holiday shut downs and bad weather didn't help things. I took the rear tires to the nearest Rim Guard dealer (65 miles) yesterday and had them loaded. The FEL, RB, and 59 inch snowblower are at the dealer but he is missing the AF11E blade at this point and it will be about 2 weeks before that comes in. Tractor should be delivered "early next week" and when it finally gets here I will post pictures.

How did you know? I actually slept much better last night than I have in weeks! Everything is finally coming together. We still have over 30 inches of snow on the ground but it warmed up to 55 today! No new snow of any amount in the forecasts. March can be a heavy snow month in Minnesota however.

That warm weather is upon the Northeast for today and tomorrow. March can be very snowy and our winter ends right about April 15th.

You must be one hungry cat waiting for that gorgeous tractor....Cab and all.!!

I think it will be worth the wait.

PICTURES.!!!!:D

Hurray my 3720 is here and has been busy clearing snow! It arrived at the dealer on Feb. 14th. During the pre-delivery preparation and inspection they discovered a leaking seal in the MFWD so that had to be repaired. Delivery to me took place late on Feb. 23rd. Roughly four months after I ordered it. In addition to the equipment in the pictures it also has a FEL and bucket. Yet to come is a front blade for the FEL (AF11E) which I don't need until next winter because we have so much snow I must use the blower now or the one mile road would get too narrow. The R4 tires are Rim Guard loaded. The cab is outstanding. I was practicing so with it this morning and the outside temperature was about 12 below zero but I had to keep turning the heat down in the cab because I was getting too warm!

I've never looked at anything bigger than a scut, but I see the 3000 series has a 3 point hitch type front quick attach. How is it to take on and off? Does it all have to come off like on the scuts to use the loader?

Nice tractor
